My husband, my brother, and I were visiting LA for a couple of days this past week, and we wanted to see a movie. We decided to see "Portrait of a Lady on Fire," which was showing in the dome. The Cinerama Dome opened in 1963 but was renovated by ArcLight in 2002 - and it has a curved 32x86-foot screen! What a unique movie watching experience. I currently live in Nashville, which is an indie movie theater desert (we have one independent theater that shows indie movies, and it has two theaters and a tiny closet upstairs it calls a theater), so I blown away (but not surprised) by LA's movie theater options. And I'm glad we saw a movie at ArcLight. It's pricey (it was $18.50/ticket to see a movie in the dome - not sure if movies in the theater are the same price), but I had a great experience. You can validate parking in the garage for $3. The theater is FANCY. Real coffee!!! A little shop? It's nice, updated, modern, clean, just nice in general. The only thing is I wish there was more of an elevation to the seats in the dome - because we saw a subtitled film, and I definitely missed a few words because I could barely read them over the head in front of me (if you're short and seeing a subtitled film, you might want to sit in the higher seats on the balcony). But overall? A great movie experience.

Whilst we have some very nice movie theatres in Australia, I was not prepared for the opulence of this ArcLight Cinema complex. One could purchase light meals and alcohol in the little wine bar in the foyer and there was also places to purchase coffee, cold drinks and snacks. I wasn't prepared for the security but felt safer with that in place. The theatre itself was huge, the seating comfortable and there were no annoying advertisements that we have to sit through in Australia. Well done ArcLight, my husband and I enjoyed our experience.

I just drove 20 minutes to see Ford vs. Ferrari. I checked the Pasedena showtimes on the website. There was supposed to be a 10:30pm show. When I got to the lobby I was told there was no 10:30pm show. I'm home now 30 minutes after leaving the theater and checked the website again. I was correct they showed a 10:30pm show. I can imagine few things a movie chain could do worse than putting up the wrong showtime for a movie.

A midcentury building with top-of-the-line technology. Great snack bar, friendly staff, we had a great experience. One caution - on-street parking in the area is tricky, very easy to get a ticket. But there is ramp parking. Plan ahead and you'll have a great experience.

I wanted to see Jojo Rabbit but there was only one screening in my area at the Cinerama Dome, which I’ve also wanted to see, so I thought I’d kill two birds with one stone and catch a screening here!
The geodesic dome structure is very unique and was built in 1963 so it wouldn’t feel at all out of place during the Mad Men era! There is a neat exhibit explaining the history of the building and props from recent movies which provide great photo opportunities.
The interior of the dome is beautiful and reminds me of a honeycomb! The curved screen certainly makes for an interesting experience at the cinema.
Parking is very convenient as there’s a structure behind the theater and you can get validation in the lobby. Bathrooms are clean and the walls even have some geodesic motifs reminiscent of the inside of the dome. Highly recommend this place to make movie night more special!

My Husband and I went to see the new Joker film whilst on vacation. We'd narrowly missed a 3pm showing and agreed to wait til 4 30 to catch the next viewing and it was well worth it. The Dome is huge, comfortable and screen is the largest you'll see (compared to what we get in the UK). The car parking adjoined to the cinema allows 4 hours of parking for 3bucks which is an absolute steal for LA. Drinks and treats were standard cinema prices. Well worth a visit.

We don’t go to the movie theater often, but after reading a review about Aquarela in the Wall Street Journal, decided to venture from Ventura County to the Arclight in Hollywood, as this was one of the very few theaters screening this film.
Located in proximity to the iconic Cinerama dome, Arclight provides multiple additional screens for a broad selection of movies. Appreciated the opportunity to buy tickets online at home in advance – though seeing the morning of our selected film that 95% of the seats were unsold, we opted to buy upon arrival.
We parked in the public parking lot adjacent to the facility. One tip here is to get your parking ticket validated inside the theater as that will get you out for $3 (if you stay less than the time limit which I think is 4 hours) – otherwise, you pay the inflated parking rate which I believe runs closer to $20.
Within 2 minutes of leaving the car, walking up the steps and towards the main entrance of the Cinerama dome, we passed by several scary, gross, and drug induced folks. Inside, we ran into some of the rudest (customers mind you, not staff), people we’ve encountered in some time. That’s saying something about this area – coming off a three week multi-city journey in the UK, and having travelled widely domestically and internationally. I grew up as a child in Hollywood, and still live just 45 minutes away, but I dread coming to the center of this city, as it feels (is) unsafe and filthy.
Inside the theater, we were surprised at how dirty the seats were. They looked as if they hadn’t had a cleaning or seen a vacuum cleaner in months. Kind of gross. I was expecting a more top of the line, modern, experience given the location (we are at ground zero of Hollywood movies), and the money charged to enter. We attended a matinee and tickets were $18 each. Adding parking and the cost of gas, this afternoon out added up to slightly north of $40.
There are some films that do beckon to be seen on the big screen – our choice this weekend, Aquarela, is one of those films. More of a cinematic experience versus something you dial up on Netflix at home. Still, given that over 90% of films do just fine for us over the broadband line at home, this experience reinforced our pattern of venturing out to the big screens for carefully selected films.

Godzilla has a family meaning to us. I was brought up on the original Godzilla - I think - there have been so many but let's just say that in my son's lifetime he has seen at least 2 variations of Godzilla if not three. What a treat that he took me to see the latest one at the Arclight on Sunset in Hollywood with his girlfriend, Sarah.
It was a great birthday present to me and a great family night out. Popcorn wasn't over-salted like so many theatres and the building was ornate, lit up with Godzilla on the top of the Dome. So, when in Hollywood - go where it's more expensive for the experience. Why is there no place for family - just family? Adult kids.

The Dome theatre is the largest screen in LA which is the entertainment capital of ye world. The entire Arclight complex is one of the best movie theatres, period. While the Cinerama Dome is special, all of the other theatres are huge as well.
The seats are very comfortable with plenty of legroom. There is restaurant in the lobby in addition to a Boba drink retailer.
The parking garage is right next door as is the famous Amoeba record store. Located right on Sunset Blvd, in one of the coolest parts of Hollywood.

It’s so nice to go to the movies, and not be concerned about poor movie etiquette! It’s worth the little extra expense to relax and enjoy the show!
