My 68-yr-old husband was gifted with the NASCAR Driving Experience for Father's Day. He was a bit skeptical but he LOVED it! He's not a NASCAR fan, but he loves speed & has always owned fast cars. My 2 adult daughters & my 3-yr-old grandson accompanied us to the CLT Speedway & we all had a great time!
Aug 27, 2022: Prepared to stay several hours, (& it was a hot day in the 90's). Sunscreen, a hat, & lots of water are essential. It's loud, but not TOO loud. We brought along ear plugs, but didn't need them. Drivers: you MUST be flexible to climb in the window of the car so stretch & limber up & dress in loose, cool clothes--you will sweat! There are free folding chairs in the shade under a tent at the sidelines for visitors or you can climb the stairs to bleachers for a higher view. The crew was very friendly. And safety always came FIRST! Kudos to crew member Richard who, on his 1st day of employment, was efficient, friendly, & professional. He even took some close up pictures of my hubby getting into the car.
The whole event was a lot of fun for the whole family. We recommend it, even if you just go to watch someone else race!

We went to 2 races at the Iowa Speedway, The Indy Car Double Header. The track is easy to access just off Interstate 80. Parking is plentiful. The first issue we had was the young person handling the handicapped area wanted to reroute us to a 2nd area because my wife does not use a wheelchair or cane. She can not walk long distances and has the proper permit to park in the ADA area. The 2nd issue was will call. They only had 1 window open at the track ticket office behind the grandstand. and we stood in line 40 minutes before the 2nd window opened. At this point people were getting hot and rude. The track personnel at the info booths did not know the locations of vendors and for being credit card only you really need to have dependable Internet if you are going cashless as we went to 4 concessions and only one was dependable without having to try 3 or 4 times. The race was good and the track itself was fun. Indy Car, You need to do better on customer service. Will not be back.

Had 2 races here and two days and there were some differences. Saturday was directed to a parking spot and we tailgated until we wanted to go into the track. It was terribly hot and they had one cooling center, which was a shipping container with AC. Given the temps they needed at least 10 of them as one of my companions just never got cool as it was so crowed in there. The track itself is great. You can see the entire track from your seats.

The Sunday race we arrived a bit closer to race time and the line of cars were long. I suspect they needed double the volunteers to handle parking as people were doing their thing, not listening to the staff, and angering the parking volunteers. I'm used to mostly flat areas, but Iowa has plenty of rolling hills and that's what most of the parking is. You might feel a little uncomfortable driving to where the parking staff wants you to go as you'll have some terrain to traverse.

Thankfully the temps were 15 degrees cooler. Apparently one area had lots of food trucks, but I didn't see that. Once again the racing was great, we had a cooling breeze from the north blow directly into our faces, and you could see the entire track from your seats. Overall great track for a race.

Attended the Indycar Iowa Corn 300 and I enjoyed the race a lot. It is much different than many of the other races that I have been to. It was much smaller in scale. The pre race activities consisted of only a few sponsor tent and a few local food vendors. It was very cool to see and get an ear of corn from Tony Kaanan, who was passing out corn at the Chevy booth. Parking was free, which was surprising, they did have a camping area, something I would consider if I went back. We sat around and had a few beers before going into the track about an hour or so before the race. Inside the track they had large bar with live music, but after only a few minutes of enjoying the music we were told to evacuate the area, a big storm was set to roll through, and that it did. We sat in the car and finished the rest of the beer that we had brought, waiting out the rain. This delayed the start of the race for about four hours. After the race started, there was one additional rain delay after about ten-twenty laps but then they raced, finishing around 12:30am. The track is small, so you can see the cars all the way around the entire track, something I have never seen before.

Taking advantage of a significant promotional, I decided to get to purchase the driving experience for my son (and I) who was visiting from NYC.
I got the 8 lap package along with the "ride along" experience as preparation for the actual solo driving experience.

Overall we were impressed with the program - a real NASCAR one-mile oval track driving experience with few limitations. The staff was professional and accommodating making sure everyone had a good experience. The wait was a bit long as they were initially only running one "ride-along" car to accommodate those who wanted that experience before driving on their own. I'd say the ride-along isn't necessary unless you want to get a sense of what the experience would be like before you got behind the wheel and using your own laps to get a feel for things.

Since the driving goes by quickly, we would recommend minimally doing the 8 lap option.

They are a bit obnoxious if you opt not to purchase the extra damage insurance but once you get by that, all was nicely done - instruction, equipment, etc.

It was a weather delayed race so it began at 11:30 pm because of horrible weather. They did a great job preparing the track and keeping everyone safe at Iowa. One thing however, we had gone back to our hotel due to the storm so we went back to track at 10:00. They had no one directing traffic and it is really dark. We had no idea where to park. Other than that I have no complaints. Great place!!

My son and I came down for the June Nascar weekend. Actual race was rained out Saturday, double header Sunday. Facility was great about ticket accommodations between Sat/Sun.
I've been coming to IS nearly every year since it opened, it is always a good experience. Even at full capacity it doesn't feel crowded. Sadly, it's been less than capacity in recent years (at least for the events I attend).
Definitely recommend you come for a race or two. Not a bad seat in the place, concessions are good, and there are a decent amount of vendor attractions to visit between on-track events.

I took the recommendation to do the ride along with a driver to get a feel for the track and turns. I would highly recommend doing this for first timers as it helped a great deal when I got behind the wheel of the car. Overall, it was a great experience and would do it again and again! The staff were really friendly and helpful. I drove at the Iowa Speedway in Newton Iowa.

I drove at the Kentucky Speedway; what an adrenalin rush! I did the ride along first, then I drove. Boy, what an experience! Two thumbs up on this one...

The drive and ride along were good. The rest was very disorganized. They did not tell you were to go into the track at. It should have been sent with the directions. The race assistant for the day took 5-10 minutes to get back to you with directions. They should have had you fill out the form before you got there. Also after the instruction class there was no direction on what to do. The pit crew working the cars that day did not want to be there and were rude. The drivers even complained that they would not get a break that day do to the size of classes. I would not do again. If you go please read all reviews and be prepared for a long day.
