DRUM! tells the story of the arrival and settlement, struggle and ultimate coming together of four of Nova Scotia’s founding cultures – Aboriginal, Black, Celtic and Acadian. The cast of 20 drummers, dancers, and singers demonstrates each culture’s unique and distinct rhythm, by featuring each and finally bringing them together into one electrifying rhythmic fusion of dance, music and song. The original production will now include exciting new additions to the finale number. A host of local drummers and drumming groups from international cultures such as Japanese, Middle Eastern, African and Caribbean will be asked to join the original four cultures to create a feature called, “Drums of the World”.
