Excellent thing you can do for a day that will teach you a lot about falconry and birds conservation.

To anyone looking for an activity to do this is it. We accidentally came across it on Airbnb experience and was easy to book along with good communication from the host. They personally drove us to the falconry and were also teaching us about local sites and local environmental issues.
The experience with the birds was magnificent!! You got learn about each species they had (owls, Falcons, eagles, vultues). Then the best part is different species of birds would land on your hand with proper equipment of course. It was just the best and so were the hosts. Book we soon as you can!

This day experience was one of our Prague highlights. Peter, Jan & Eliska are very warm & hospitable host doing work they love for a great cause. The sanctuary was the most impeccably maintained I’ve ever been to. Initially I was very nervous of the birds but that soon vanished.
    Thank you for the memories.

Was looking up experiences on Airbnb and came across this. Possibly the highlight of my entire trip! I communicated with Eliska before the trip and she was very responsive and accommodating. Matej picked me up from the meeting spot and was very nice. Cookies before we started were tasty (I ate too many). Peter was incredibly knowledgeable. He showed us many bird species before the actual falconry - owls, hawks, vultures, crows, ravens, etc. The falconry itself had two hawks, a bald eagle and a vulture. Ask Peter how to use two hands (supporting one arm) because the bald eagle and vulture were significantly heavier than the hawks (don’t let my advice deter you - there were children under the age of 10 who had assistance). It was so cool looking into the eyes of Helen, the bald eagle, while she was perched on my glove! If you’re a man, you may want to shave your beard for a chance with Omar, the vulture, because he’s used to visiting children and schoolteachers (all who are women). He was such a funny bird, you’ll see for yourself. Peter also showed us a cool demonstration with one bird. My favorite part was when Jane (Peter’s wife, absolute sweetheart) brought out a tawny owl at the end. I got to pet its belly while it was perched on my glove. I *HIGHLY* recommend this tour, I cannot emphasize enough how enjoyable it was.

This experience was fruitfully educational, awe-inspiring, and spectacularly fun! Petr and his family were lovely and superbly accommodating.

10/10 would look a bald eagle into the eyes while having the majestic creature resting on my arm again.

Very cool event, organizers were very nice and affable. They work with birds for their entire life, are highly engaged and really care about the birds and environment. It was very informative, they taught us a lot about the bird behavior, falconry and its challenges. After we were introduced to each bird, they let the bigger ones to land on our arms and eat from our hands. The organizers were very welcoming and supplied us with drinks and cookies. At the end everyone received a little cute present <3

A well-organised half day event, including transport to/from central Prague and warming coffee on site. We got to see several types of owls, falcons, eagles and vultures in captivity. Then the whole family took part in a very interesting show where we got to see several birds free-flying and could try having them land on our hands. Educating and thrilling!

A fantastic experience where I learned a lot about the animals, and unfortunately also the fact that there are challenges around the world that need to be addressed to preserve many of these for future generations. I was very impressed by the birds and being given the chance to meet them up close. The bald eagle amongst others where really impressive.
A big thank you to Petr with family and the warm welcoming letting us in, and take part of their impressive and important work.

Very cool experience. A small family-run bird rescue facility in the middle of meadows and woods (but still near Prague). They seem to really care about all the birds they have and about the environment as well. We were explained a bit about each bird and then came the best part! Some of the largest birds were let free one by one and then they flew back to the owner on their own. Also you can let a huge eagle land on your arm just like on the photos! We felt very welcomed the whole time and as a small group it was not like being in a herd of tourists. :)
