Just back from an epic Treking holiday in Nepal taking the Manaslu circuit, including the ascent over Larke pass at 510m. The whole trip was organised by Khum and Unique Adventure International. Everything was really well organised, we make a number of changes to the plans as we wen along and everything was organised without any fuss.
The Manaslu circuit is absolutely stunning, I strong recommend it to anybody looking for a Nepal adventure.
A special shout out to out guide Chandra, and our porters. They were absolutely fantastic.
Really looking forward to returning to Nepal for our next adventure with Unique Adventures

We made a hiking tour of the Manaslu region, including ascent to Larke pass starting from Soti Kohla and finishing Dharapani.
The scenery is beyond breathtaking in this specially protected region. As you walk you will experience life in the mountains Nepalese style, including farming, and how each village works as a community. The mountains also brings with it the opportunity to experience the Buddhist culture. And of course for the adventurous, the ascent to Larke pass provides a great sense of achievement.
The Unique team planned our travel from beginning to end. Thinking about nice extra ‘treats’ like sun rise walks, visits to lakes and choosing lovely tea houses for each stay over. Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly and super attentive. Everything was so well arranged. Big thanks to all the team at unique

I would like to comment on my group experience of a 15-day trip to Nepal and Tibet with Unique Adventure International Ltd, based in Kathmandu, whose managing director is Mr. Khum Bahadur Subedi. My opinion is certainly very positive regarding the overall organization of the tour, agreed precisely and accurately with Mr. Khum, also through video calls and text messages. Certainly positive was the notable punctuality in carrying out the travel program and flexibility dictated by unforeseen events or by our needs also related to changes in the weather. The means made available for travel were valid, modern and efficient as well as the ability of the drivers at our disposal. Even the guides who accompanied us to the places to visit were expert and capable. The hotels were of reasonable quality but not luxurious, otherwise the cost of the trip would have risen excessively, and they were always conveniently close to the places of interest to visit in the cities. Contingent problems related to the passability of the road between Nepal and Tibet, very bumpy and subject to landslides due to the rain, were resolved quickly and efficiently. So an overall very positive opinion on Unique Adventure Ltd. Definitely a travel agency to recommend for those who want to visit Nepal, Tibet and other places in the East.

I recently embarked on an unforgettable journey with Unique Adventure Travel, and it truly exceeded all my expectations! From the very beginning, their team demonstrated an impressive level of expertise and creativity in crafting our itinerary. They went beyond the usual tourist spots, offering us a series of off-the-beaten-path experiences that were both thrilling and immersive. We hiked through hidden trails, explored remote villages, and enjoyed unique cultural activities that we wouldn’t have found on our own

I just completed the 15 day trek to Annapurna Base Camp with Dev as my guide and had an amazing experience! Unique Adventure had been recommended by my friend who had done the Poonhill trek in Spring with Dev and she had recommended both the company and guide Dev. From the start communication was very good, they were quick to respond to emails answering any queries. I was picked up at the airport by the boss Mr Khum himself, a stalwart in the tourist industry who started out as a guide himself and has had this company for 25 years this year-a very nice man who goes out his way to make sure you have everything you need and ensure you have a great trek, nothing is ever too much hassle. Dev himself also got in touch before the trek to make sure I had everything I needed and helped me get some hiking boots in Kathmandu. You can get all trekking supplies both in Kathmandu and Pokhara and everything is widely available and at good prices. I’m so glad I purchased a good pair of waterproof hiking boots as they were much needed for the trail as it was monsoon season and sometimes you were walking across small rivers. I chose to fly to Pokhara, a quick 25 minute plane ride, for the start of the trek-there was the option of bus but it would have involved a 10 hour + journey over bad, dusty roads and meant I wouldn’t have had any time to see the lovely town of Pokhara. This was an additional fare but worth it for the time you save, though the planes aren’t recommended by the UK government but I took the risk.
The trek was very challenging, as you’re walking for 5-6 hours per day in hot conditions, on uneven terrain, sometimes uphill and sometimes down, but there are plenty of ‘rest’ spots along the way especially at the start which you definitely need and lots of lovely tea houses-the mint tea and hot chocolate I particularly enjoyed. Even though I consider myself pretty fit it was definitely tough but very worthwhile. The views are stunning! The first few days you are sore all over so take plenty of paracetamol and Ibrufen for sore muscles! I had to pick up some extra analgesia in Ghandruk and was able to get it for free at the local health clinic.
There were so many amazing aspects of the trek-which was a total of 11 days and Dev and Ishur the porter looked after me very well. I injured my foot on day 3 and Dev had a safety splint for me which enabled me to continue the trek. Every evening they cut me up some nice fruit for after the meal and Dev had thankfully brought an extra poncho for me and gave me his walking pole to use which was definitely needed as well. They also taught me a fun Nepalese card game Dhumbal which we played every night.
Thankfully there wasn’t that much litter along the path but there was still more than there should be and myself and Dev picked up litter along the way and put it in the bins.
We did meet some people doing the trek on their own without a guide but I’m so glad I had a guide as they give you inside knowledge and information about the culture and also for the safety aspect as well as some of the areas are avalanche risk and they know when it’s safe to walk.
The Nepalese are very lovely people who don’t expect or ask for anything from you which is very refreshing.
The only negative was the use of all the plastic bottles which is so bad for the environment-so next time I would take a water filter with me.

It sounds like you had an incredible trek to Annapurna Base Camp with Dev as your guide! From the excellent communication before the trek to the warm welcome at the airport by Mr. Khum, every aspect of your experience with Unique Adventure was top-notch. Dev's care and support throughout the trek, especially when you injured your foot, truly made a difference. His knowledge of the trail, cultural insights, and safety precautions ensured a smooth and enjoyable journey. It's great to hear that you took the initiative to pick up litter along the path and that you appreciated the Nepalese people's hospitality. Considering the environmental impact of plastic bottles, bringing a water filter on your next trek is a fantastic idea. Overall, it sounds like an unforgettable adventure filled with stunning views, cultural experiences, and valuable lessons learned. Thank you for your review.

My grandmother and I went on a 10-day trip to Nepal, covering important areas such as Kathmandu, Pokhara and Chitwan. Our trip was extremely pleasant, right from the day we stepped foot into Nepal, where we were greeted with a warm Nepali-style welcome, followed by complementary dinner and a cultural show. Our driver Ruben even gave us his spare SIM-card free-of-charge to prevent us the hassle of applying a SIM-card using our foreign passports - such was the hospitality of Unique Adventure International.
Even during the booking phase, communication with Mr Khum from Unique Adventure was very hassle-free as he was fast to respond, and immediately altered the existing package to customise as per our preferences. For example, I had wished to visit Bhkathapur, which was not initially on the package, and he immediately added it in and re-arranged some other destinations to make for a smoother journey and got back to me about the new package, all within half-a-day. The company also included all guide expenses, travel expenses, accomodation and breakfasts, as well as entrance fees in their package price - which made the trip itself very hassle-free, without me having to worry whether there was enough money to see certain attractions.
Our first 2 days were spent on travelling around cultural sites in Nepal, such as Pashupathinath Temple and Durbar Square in Kathmandu, as well as Bhaktapur. These were extremely beautiful places, rich in culture and heritage. Our guide Mr Ram was very knowledgeable and friendly, and was not rushing us to move from one site to another. Instead, he allowed us the luxury of time to slowly explore the structures, and was always willing to answer extra questions we had. He also helped to bridge our language gap by helping to communicate with shopkeepers, priests etc., as well as teaching us how to engage in certain religious rituals which we had interest in.
Following this, we were driven to Chitwan in the same vehicle, where we stayed in Hotel Park Land and engaged in jungle activities. Again, excellent service with buffet for all 3 meals, and knowledgeable guides bringing us into the forests for walks and safaris. We managed to spot a black bear and 2-3 rhinos during our Jeep Safari, which my grandmother and I were very excited about. Furthermore, the hotel was very accomodating with elderly people such as my grandmother, as they had a guide who brought them on a slower walk and made sure they were well and safe throughout the forest activities. It was because of responsible people like them that I was able to go ahead and enjoy myself without having to worry about the safety of my grandmother.
Chitwan was followed by Pokhara, with a 3h stop at the beautiful town of Bandipur. Although the package had initially only included a 1h stop at Bandipur, I liked the beautiful hilly-town so much I wanted to spend a few more hours there. I made this known to Mr Khum and our driver, Ruben, and they were extremely accomodating and flexible, allowing us the few more hours at Bandipur. This is unlike other tour agenices, which often force their iterinary down your throats. Upon arriving in Pokhara, I realised there were many adventure activities which I wanted to do that were not included in the package. I tried booking these activities, such as paragliding, ultralight flight and horse trek, by myself, but was unfortunately unable to do so. I then escalated my concerns to Mr Khum, who immediately helped me book these activities at no extra cost, through his connections, other than the cost of the activities themselves. This really elevated my experience in Pokhara.
Following all this, we headed back to Kathmandu for a couple days’ rest and shopping before flying back to our country. We had chosen to stay in a homestay in the village area for the last 2 nights. While the host was very pleasant and the bed was comfortable, the toilet unfortunately had a musky odour to it, which made showering and even being in the room very difficult. We mentioned this to Mr Khum, who then immediately apologised for any inconvenience caused and upgraded us to a hotel for free.
All-in-all, it was a very pleasant experience travelling around Nepal with Unique Adventure. Mr Khum would constantly and tirelessly update my mom back home about our safety, and special credits to our driver Ruben, who took very good care of my grandmother and went above and beyond in many instances, such as preparing my surprise birthday party, telling me stories about different Nepali villages and so on. I will be sure to return to Nepal with Unique Adventure in the future.
