Great local cooking experience
My bf and I had the best time walking around the local stores with Shalini, learning more about typical daily life in India and the cooking that goes along with it. We loved the food we ate at the end of the night along with Shalini and her family, overall it was a great experience that enriched our travels!

The Taj Mahal was lovely but the real gem of India is Shalini and her family. I was traveling alone and I am so glad I had the opportunity to meet her, her husband, her wonderful sons, and her in-laws. We had a nice time walking through the market and I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to help prepare and cook dinner. It was a beautiful evening in a beautiful city.

Best experience in India so far

Our cooking evening with Shalini has been our BEST experience in India so far! It is so much more than just food. We shared such a memorable time with Shalini and her incredible family (two sons, husband, mother in law and father in law). The dinner we prepared was absolutely delicious and so different to the bland Indian food you often find in the UK. I can’t recommend this experience enough! You will not want to miss out on this. It was fantastic to have been able to prepare each item on the menu by hand and then have the excitement of eating it after. Shalini patiently helps you along the cooking process, with expert tips too from her mother in law! What a wonderful evening.

Une belle soirée dans la vie et la cuisine d’une famille de Jaipur!
Une belle rencontre avec Shalini et sa famille! On se sent tout de suite bien accueilli et à son aise. Les plats réalisés sont des plats de base faciles à reproduire de retour chez soi. Au-delà de la cuisine, on en apprend un peu plus sur la culture locale, les modes de vie et on s’amuse devant l’esprit vif et curieux des enfants. Une belle soirée que je recommande de faire à 2-3 personnes maximum pour vraiment en profiter.

It’s a Family Affair!
We loved our evening with Shalini and her family. Our neighborhood shopping trip was enlightening-who knew there was a department store behind those modest doors? Her husband was engaging, the boys delightful and the prep partnership with her mother was endearing. My husband was a reluctant participant and he enjoyed the evening as much as I did. The cooking experience was well organized. I still marvel at the process of four people preparing a multi course meal in a small kitchen with no oven and only two burners. But Shalini managed it with grace and ease! The food was delicious. She even accommodated my request for no hot spices. The evening exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend.

A wonderful experience in Jaipur

Shalini is amazing!! We arrived and sat down to be introduced to her family. Then out to the market to pick what we needed to cook.
Cooking with Shalini is tough.... she made me work hard.... like Cinderella (i’m only joking) and the food was the tastiest ever....the ice cold water was needed :-)
One of the highlights in our 3 week travels across India and i’ve kept in touch with Shalini since returning home :-)

The great thing about cooking with Shalini was not only the market tour, working in her large spacious kitchen, learning how create an authentic home cooked Indian meal, talking with her family BUT the follow-up text that included "how to" instructions for replicating all of the delicious foods we prepared together. Jaipur is a fascinating city, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Shalini and her family in Incredible India. Namaste !

A Delightful Evening

This was one of our favorite memories while visiting India. Shalini and her family welcomed us into their home. We toured her neighborhood to a market, and a fresh vegetable stand. She designed our meal around the vegetables we chose. We all ( 5 of us) took turns preparing our dinner in her kitchen, under her guidance. What a great teacher, wonderful family, and great food.
I highly recommend this evening

Shalini is a beautiful soul and was so caring and delightful to us. Helped in the kitchen and we really enjoyed the supermarket tour and the selection of vegetables from the local vegie shop. we got to choose which vegies we would like to cook. She makes it very comfortable and we also enjoyed her mother-in-law who is also a major cook in the kitchen, and loved showing us some of her photos.
Wonderful to meet her normal family and share an idea how a typical Indain family lives and cooks?

Thank you Shalini we would definitly recommend to all our friends and if we make it back will come again?

Two of us had a great evening cooking with Shalini and her mother-in-law and then sharing a meal with her family. The food was simple, but super tasty! This cooking class is a great way to experience India from inside. Highly recommended!
