Amazing highlight of our Morocco trip
dic. de 2019
This trek totally made our Morocco trip. The hospitality, courtesy and kindness shown be Mohammed and the rest of the crew was truly the highlight of our trip. They went above and beyond. It was no-nonsense, exactly what we asked/looking for. They didn't try to up sell or walk us into a tourist trap (like so many other horror stories I have heard from friends who have been to Morocco and done a camel ride)

When we pictured a desert adventure, we envisioned the days of early explorers headed out into the vast Sahara on a camel caravan, devoid of modern motorized vehicles. We searched the web and finally found this group ( MP Sahara tours).

During the planning phase Mohammed and Laila were very easy to work with. They were prompt and concrete with their replies (even though we were half a world away). They were accommodating to our requests (half our group was vegetarian) and flexible on dates. The price was reasonable and fixed on a per person per day basis. Mohammed also arranged for taxi to and from M'hamid (from Marrakesh) for a reasonable price. (Warning: It is almost an entire days drive). So it was literally a non-hassle trip the moment we got onto the taxi.

I was tracking our progress on my GPS watch and was amazed that we were maintaining a near perfect straight line. Our guides were just using the horizon as reference. The camels seemed to have been treated well and left to graze during stops for lunch and at night. The camps were set up to protect us from the elements. Since the camps are not predetermined, you get to experience the solitude of camping by yourself and enjoying the starry sky at night. In all a very delightful and fun experience.

The food that our guides cooked in the desert was among the best I had eaten in Morocco. I was also amazed that our guides made semolina bread out in the desert without an oven in the sand and we didn't encounter a single grain of sand in the bread we ate. Amazing!!. I consider myself an amateur bread baker, so I was a very impressed with this technique.

In conclusion, pick this group for your camel trekking desert adventure. You will have no regrets. We have added a 7 day camel trekking trip to our bucket list and would pick MP Sahara tours to lead us when we do.

Amazing experience with the best guides
nov. de 2019 • Amigos
Our night in the desert was the best part of our trip to Morocco. Hanging out with our guides was so fun, they told us so much about the desert and life in Morocco. We wish we had stayed longer. Traveling as two women in an unfamiliar country was a little bit intimidating, but while we were with our guides, we felt very safe and comfortable. The accommodations in the camp at M’hamid were fabulous, the scenery was beautiful. 100% would recommend this tour company to anyone who wants to visit the Sahara. Thank you so much for a great visit!

A perfect architecture study trip
oct. de 2019
We contacted Mohammed to organize for us a 1 week study trip for a group of students from the MArch Architecture programme at Cardiff University, UK. Camel Trek Morocco normally provide tourists a poetic and beautiful experience of the desert. However we were asking for something a little different.

We wanted the trip to be based around his camp a few miles outside M’hamid and for it to combine a number of different experiences. We asked for a 3 day camel trek. We wanted to visit vernacular buildings in and around M’hamid and we wanted to build using mud. Mohammed delivered everything we asked for and so much more. And it was all included in a fixed per head price agreed at the outset that was constrained by the university budget. He organized the logistics beautifully including airport transfers. But it was Mohammed’s attention to detail and desire to give us over and above what we asked for that really stood out. We wanted to visit the Ksar in old M’hamid (an extraordinary and beautiful fortified farming village made almost entirely of mud) and he arranged for a family who lived there to cook us lunch. We asked to make some mud bricks and he arranged for us to build a hut. If we expressed an interest in local traditions the following meal would be shared with his team and eaten according to their custom. One afternoon a man arrived by moped with a guitar on his back and that evening we sat around the campfire listening to Mohammed and his friends singing and playing music.

Camel trek Morocco is run by Mohammed and he has chosen a great team of people to work with. We would like to thank Petrana, Yunnus, Mohammed’s brother, Hassan who cooked delicious food, Matti, a builder, worked tirelessly to help us make the mud hut and was also our host at the Ksar, Quider made mixing mud look effortless (it isn’t!) as well as Brahim, Said, Alan, Barri (please excuse my spelling) and a big thankyou to Mohammed’s parents.

This trip was special and memorable. It has left us with very positive memories of a lovely community of people and sense of the wonder for the desert environment. We couldn’t recommend Mohammed and his team more highly

A Beautiful Shared Experience
ene. de 2019 • Amigos
I cannot thank Mohamed, Abdoo, Hassan, Petrana and the rest of the crew at Camel Trek Morocco enough. This familial group, dedicated to guiding travelers through the desert landscape, shared parts of their lives and welcomed my friend and I with open arms. We did a five-day walking trek with Adboo and Hassan. We walked and talked and found our rhythm together, we cooked by the fire and made bread in the sand, we camped under the stars, and slept alongside our three camel companions. I have traveled in many different parts of the world, alone and with others, and while of course every place reveals its own qualities and opportunities to learn, it was this group of people that allowed for a kind of shared experience that made this trip so memorable and special for me, and I highly recommend getting to know them and making your own journey.

Experience that changed my life
ene. de 2019 • Amigos
I really don't even know where to begin, and I don't think it is possible to fully explain the incredible life changing experience I had during my week in the desert with Mohamed, Abdoo, Hassan, and the whole Camel Trek Morocco crew. I really didn't know what to expect when I booked the trek - I just knew that I wanted to spend time walking through the desert. My friend and I met Mohamed in Ouarzazate and spent our first day driving south towards M'hamid, stopping along the way at various scenic locations and old kasbahs. We spent our first night in Camel Trek Morocco's desert camp in the dunes outside of M'hamid. My friend and I were blown away by our first night in camp, and didn't think the trip could get any better. We had a lovely simple berber tent, with mattresses and carpets - and we were served a delicious dinner before hanging out around the campfire under the stars. The next day we began our trek with our two guides, Hassan and Abdoo, and our three camels. We instantly became fast friends with Abdoo and Hassan who made our trip absolutely amazing. Their smiles and humor, and guidance through the week were always welcomed. Over the five days we spent walking, I couldn't believe how many different landscapes we traversed. The desert changed drastically from hour to hour and day to day, and then ended up in the big dunes on January 1st. What a way to start the New Year. Our last night at the camp was very bitter sweet. Both my friend and I agreed we could have trekked for another week with Adboo and Hassan and we were not ready to go back...I will return to Mohamed's camp without a doubt and I plan to bring friends and family back, so that they too, may understand the Sahara.

Desert magic
mar. de 2017 • Solitario
For anyone looking to have a beautiful, pure, light-hearted desert experience, you should do it with Mohammed, Yassine, and the gang. My experience in M'Hamed, at the riad, and in the desert has been a truly transformative one. The hospitalityu and peace of mind I received from the very beginning was extraordinary, the tagines and couscous mouth watering, and the laughter unshakeable. I was treated as one of the family and welcomed with open arms into the daily life here in Morocco, included on all the outings, but also given my own space and time to cultivate my feelings of desert solitude and tranquility. I really can't write enough about these lovely folks I had the pleasure of spending time with; the way of life here is slow, deliberate, and intentional, and the desert has her unique ability to purify you of crazy thoughts and swirling anxiety, to open you up to release and surrender. Already I feel like a different person than when I arrived, feeling more at ease and comfortable with myself and the nature surrounding be every moment. When I first arrived at the riad, I was taken aback by how beautiful and creative the spaces are. Intricate cob work, beautiful murals, with each room invoking the spirit of the desert and the free-flowing ebb and flow of life within the elements. There are many varying tents and spaces around the land to relax in and socialize, garden spaces full of rock work and greenery to allow for deeper breath, and colorful tapestries that transport you to really being, in the Moroccan landscape. I would highly, highly recommend spending time and energy with Mohammed and Yassine, it will be an existence-changing experience that will shake you and twirl you with beauty and grace. Much love to you all, I'm sure I will be back visiting the land in the future~

A true nomad experience
feb. de 2017 • Solitario
I did a lot of research on trekking through the desert, looked at multiple websites, and read tons of reviews. I chose to go with Camel Trek Morocco after reading Mohamed's bio and corresponding with him several times via email. I had the same obvious questions that anyone who has never done anything like this before would have which were all answered fairly promptly and in clear English. What I realized through our conversations is how flexible Mohamed can be with these treks. If the listed treks aren't ideal, he'll work with you to create one that is (even during the trek he was giving me options based on what I was enjoying most). The treks can be as long or short and easy or tough as you want it to be. I decided on a 2 week trek mostly through the sandy parts of the desert since I've driven through the rocky deserts in the US.

My trip started by meeting Mohamed in Marrakesh in the evening and him showing me to the Riad, which were even better than the ones I was staying in before the trek began. We got to know each other a bit, went over some details about the trek, then he pointed me in the right direction to check out the more interesting parts of the city. I had the evening on my own, then we met up in the morning to start the adventure. We had about a 9 hour journey to get to M'hamid which is the last village before the desert. You have the option of getting there by charter bus or private 4x4. I was a little nervous about selecting the bus option only because I didn't know if they would be packed and lacking air conditioning but thought I'd give it a try and just make the bus trip part of the adventure. Turns out the bus was no different than any Greyhound bus in the US, with plenty of air conditioning. The bus makes a handful of stops at various villages which was just enough to allow you to get out and stretch your legs but not enough to make the trip unnecessarily long. At every stop, Mohamed knows a bunch of people from the village. He seems to be a local legend which makes me feel good about our approaching time in the desert. We finally reach M'hamid where we head to another Riad for the night. Like in Marrakesh, the Riad is top notch and is probably a destination of its own even for non trekkers. In the morning, we go get the camels, pack them up and off we go. Along with myself and 3 camels with Arabic names, it's Mohamed and his employee Hussein. Mohamed uses the first few days to learn my preferences and quickly realizes I like coffee in the morning and then I'm good trekking the whole days distance without stopping. I guess the norm is to trek half the distance, stop for a break, and then continue the rest of the way but as I said earlier, the trip can be as flexible as you want. Riding the camel is always an option but I wanted a true nomad experience so I limited my camel riding to just a single day (and I'm even slightly ashamed of having that one day). The late afternoon was the start of my favorite part of the day. The trekking was over, camp was set up, we'd build a fire, Mohamed would make dinner, and Hussein would make fresh bread right in the desert sand. Its amazing the variety of food they would make. I don't think I ever had the same thing twice. Evening would fall and the stars would make an appearance. They called it "Moroccan TV" and just like home, I would fall asleep watching it. In the morning, we would break camp and start trekking again. Like the food, the landscape was always changing. There were high dunes, low dunes, flats, areas of small shrubs, and the oasis. Each landscape was unique and beautiful. Towards the end of the trip, I told Mohamed that I was still going to be in Morocco for a few more days so he and I put a plan together for my remaining time which included splitting up the trip back to Marrakesh over several days. He even took me to a local Hamam which is a must do after a long trek!

After spending 2 weeks with Mohamed and Hussein, I got to know them quite well. Mohamed is a nomad that built a business around his lifestyle as opposed to an entrepreneur who decided to take up camel trekking. If you want to go trekking, this is the person you'd want to go with.

The Most Amazing Trip of My Life..
jul. de 2016 • Solitario
Where to begin..From the Moment that I connected with Mohammed my guide until the end of this Magnificent Magical Journey I was completely blown away at every moment, every day was Amazing and probably the most Amazing moments of my life so far. it is hard to put into words how breathtaking the Desert is but believe me it is one of the Wonders of The world and the feelings that you retain from this magnificent trip are life changing. How do you describe Sleeping under The Stars it is something you have to experience to understand the magnificence of it I will never forget the continuous shooting stars and the millions of stars that compass the night skies, when daybreak comes you just wish it never to end and cannot wait for the next evening to experience it all over again. The Majesty of the Desert and the Beauty of colours that fill all your senses give inspiration to the mind and the slow relaxing pace of the Camel as you trek over the dunes make you really believe that you are a Nomad and that you are travelling between oasis to oasis. The thrill of cooking and eating in the Desert with real Nomads is a real treat and the food is beyond delicious far tastier than anything I had in other restaurants in Morocco. Then to be serenaded again under the stars is the icing on the top fantastic playing and singing Mohammed I felt like a princess being entertained in the Hareem of the Desert. I would highly recommend this trip to all age groups I am over forty and I did not find it hard at all, I just wish it had been longer and I did the Fifteen day trip which I highly recommend, but I will definitely go again maybe even next year and I may do a different tour next time so that I can experience another place. But i will always go with Mohammed who's knowledge is beyond compare his English is Fantastic, he also speaks French,Spanish and German so he told me. He really looked after me and made me feel welcome and Safe the whole journey and his stories kept me entertained throughout. He was Kind and attentive and he really looked after me in such a way as if I was the most important person in the whole desert answering all my questions and just really looking after me. I felt so sad to leave this wonderful place and as I said I will return next year for a different trek maybe this time by foot I really cannot wait. Many Many thanks Mohammed I wish you well on you're venture I know it will be successful as you are one of a kind.
