Gas! For Those Driving the NC500.

This review is for those driving and needing to get gas. Not so much about the Bay as the little town of Scourie. We needed gas, and they have a pay there pump, which took the burden of using the gas cans we brought along. We were doing a part of the NC500 in a 1975 TR6 Triumph, and needed gas. There was a store there, which we thought we could get cash from a machine, but it was being repaired. Got hot drinks and went on our way. Would warrant visiting again for the lovely Bay and sites. There seem to be many nice places to stay but this was off season, so most everything was closed. A shame!

Lovely Little Beach

The beach itself is gorgeous, very white sand and blue waters. There are some large rocky areas near the shore which the waves kept hitting, creating a kind of small wave machine effect in one area while the rest of the bay was still (we saw some people with kayaks playing in it) which was very cool to look at. We had an explore on the rocks and there were very nice views of the area/waves from there - and tonnes of shells!!

Lovely beach, whitest sand ive ever seen, id imagine it to feel like the carribean on a sunny day, it was raining when we got there but i still went for a paddle which was surprisingly luke warm, clean clear turquoise waters amazing

Beautiful

We drove down to the beach, and had a lovely walk along the road to the beautifully tended cemetery, and then back along on the beach itself. The views are lovely, and it was very peaceful. There is a longer walk starting on the far side of the cemetery which is well worth doing. The bay is very pretty, so well worth a stop, and a wander.

Lovely place clean neat and tidy the views are to die for and it's well worth a visit it's on the route of the NN500
So it has some amazing scenery in the holiday season it has a bar and a snack bar too and children are catered for and there's a kids menu I believe.
So give it a try we were there towards the end of October so it had closed for the winter but we spoke to people that had been there earlier in the year and said "it's worth having food there saves washing up in the caravan"

Stunning landscape

Absolutely stunning wild scenery and a must for everyone to see. We will definitely be back next year to have a longer stay as we can get lost in time watching the natural environment.

En sortant de Scourie (quand on vient du Nord) par la A894, tournez à droite et grimpez la route pendant un kilomètre. Vous surplomberez alors le village, une baie dentelée qui découvre à marée basse des plages qui se font face dans des nuance de bleu, vert, gris et sable blanc; le tout surmonté par un cimetière du Commonwealth battu pas les vents.
Magnifique et romantique à souhait.

Scourie is a small village in the North West of Scotland, on the edge of the NC 500 and far from everything. When you go there, prepare groceries for several days, but it is worth the travel, and you will definitively pass by the bay if you travel on the NC 500.
There is a very beautiful white sand beach surrounded by the green of the land and the dark blue of the sea. If you are lucky, you can see dolphins and seals and the nice Scottish coos, Take a swim in the water, it might be cold but great time, and the best activity is the sea canoe.

Baia eccezionale. Da sola in un giorno di sole vale tutto il viaggio in Scozia. Tramonto eccezionale. C’è anche un piccolo campeggio con vistabaia. Unica cosa attenzione ai midgets
