Absolutely amazing to hear music played on this instrument. The setting is ideal and the concert we heard was truly awesome. The Wurlitzer is kept in fabulous condition and sounds fantastic. It is also very exciting to see it rise up from the floor before it is played!

Attending the Howden Le Wear Village Christmas Sing-a-long was an absolute delight, and it was a privilege to witness the Wurlitzer (mighty indeed) in action.

The sound quality was excellent, and the skill of the organist most impressive.

This secret treasure is very special indeed, with a unique ambience that is warm, welcoming and genuinely wonderful.

Sincere thanks to everyone involved in the care and upkeep of this venue and for the joy it brings.

I had only ever heard theatre pipe organ music on old films. To see a Wurlizter and hear it played in this small theatre is a 1 off experience. To hear 'Deadwood Stage' played, my daughters' favorite as infants, was true lump in throat stuff...!! Kids will absolutely love it - especially us big soft ones....

The New Victoria Centre at Howden-Le-Wear, near Crook, Co.Durham, can best be described as a Mini Concert Hall. This is the home of the Mighty Wurlitzer Theatre Organ, recognised as one of the best in the world. We had one of the most entertaining and memorable shows ever experienced, with a variety of wonderful sounds from this stunning and rare instrument being played by a variety of top quality, creative organists, and a short film showing the fascinating history journey of this incredible instrument. The audience sang their hearts out with Sing-A-Longs creating a brilliant atmosphere. The Show was organised by the Centre's Friendly Volunteer Team who did a great job. Cameras are allowed. There are many different concert themes throughout the year.Highly recommended looking forward to the next event.'

The organ is brilliantly maintained and the New Victoria Centre is a delightfully appointed former Methodist chapel, with great character and ambiance. The volunteers who run the centre are welcoming and friendly. All the guest musicians are top quality, but in my opinion the young organist evenings are the highlight of the year.

Since visiting the Tower Ballroom in Blackpool my interest in the Wurlitzer has been very keen.
A friend suggested we visit the New Victoria Centre for one of the afternoon concerts, which we did. It was simply Brilliant. The Commitment of the Association has been truly tremendous, going back to 1986. The Wurlitzer, which is one of largest and most versatile instruments of its type in Europe, is housed in a specially converted hall. The concerts that I have been to have been very entertaining, featuring very talented organists, some also play at the Tower Ballroom in Blackpool. If you haven't visited yet, check out the website, and select a musical theme that appeals to you and go and experience these unique concerts, which are performed on a regular basis at a very small cost
