Had trekked to this fortress in Palghar a long back ago. This fort is a popular site for trekking and offers breathtaking views.

The base village for trekking is Vaghote. This trekking path goes through paddy fields, a forest and some rocks in between. This trek is a moderately difficult gradient. It takes about 2 and a half hours to reach the plateau.

On the plateau, there is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and a group of water cisterns. Near the water cisterns, there is an idol of Lord Hanuman. On the top, there are ramparts of the fort. Also, there is rock formation of a man which is carved due to wind. There is also another rock formation and a temple dedicated to Lord Krishna. Amazing views can be seen from here and it takes about 10-15 mins to reach it. There is a small pond can be seen in the plateau. This fortress is in ruins and has been abandoned for several years. The best time to trek is during the monsoon season and not in summer season.

This fort is an ideal place for trekkers while in Palghar.

This is an average, well connected trek.
During Summer this can be very challenging for beginners as the mountain becomes like an oven. Carry ample quantity of water and Glucon C with Electrol powder!
During Winter & Rainy Season it is quite beautiful experience when the area gets covered with mist.
Beautiful place. Must for trekkers! Can be done under Rs. 200/- budget if Public Transport is used!
Caution: This is a forest area so be very cautious, especially when trekking solo or on non weekends!
Always carry food to eat!
This is not a picnic spot so forget it if you want picnic. Go Kanheri Caves, National Park for it!
If you are not cautious you may injure your self seriously!

This is not a bad trek at all , but but if you choose the wrong season them it completely changes the outcome. If it is hot , then just avoid this place. When it is rainy and windy, this is beautiful experience

A pretty average place. Nothing much to do or see here. decent place otherwise for solace. If at all, one can go with the idea of a trek.

Went for trekking to Kohoj. But it's too hot at this time to really enjoy the trek. Also there is very less greenery due to the heat.

I would say a romantic place to visit. Travel only if you have transport arranged. No good places around to eat so carry something for munching if you want.

This place is located in Palghar region. This fort is at about 10kms from Wada. Its one of the fort which waswere surrendered by Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj to the Mughals. Its a popular place for trekking. You can get special tours for the same.
