Played here today and could only play 8 before giving up and leaving…. The fairways are unplayable and would be considered deep rough at any other course. It’s just mud and long grass with puddles you could mistake for water features. Beautiful to look at but that’s all it’s good for something to look at, wouldnt recommend anyone else to even consider playing here unless we have had 7 days of 20 degree weather.

We played here today, out of interest, to see what condition the course was in & found it better than it was at the time of my last Review.
Green-keepers are now in evidence around the course & the Fairways are in relatively good condition although the Greens still leave a lot to be desired.
It's still expensive, at £12 per Round, for what's on offer as this course always turns out to be more 'hilly walk' than 'golfing challenge' ... it's certainly much friendlier than 'Ralston', but still not comparable to many other courses nearby.

This golf course has always been poorly maintained compared to Ralston golf course. Young people use the course to drink and you can always find bottles lying around.
Also I stay in endrick drive just behind the golf course and balls constantly come flying into my garden smashing windows and roof tiles when you go round to the golf house no one cares.
I could have a Bbq in my garden but there's a good chance I'd be killed by a golf ball!!!

A council course...so its cheap and ni snobby members.
Can you tell they dont put a lot a lot of money into it? Yes.if they put any sort of budget into the place im sure it would be even busier than it is.but i guess its just a miracle its open st all.
Its not immaculate ..but its playable.
What makes it fun though is the undulating layout.
Blind..uphill...downhill...on a hill!! Every angle covered here.
The par threes are great and there are some tough holes here to keep you sharp.
Twelve quid for eighteen entertaining holes and no snobby attitude? Yes please!

Barshaw Golf Course is a Municipal Course which has no Bunkers & is, sadly, very poorly maintained ... it's also expensive at £12 per Round for what's on offer here. This Parkland Course could be a good learning ground for beginners with better maintenance ... just cutting the grass regularly would be an improvement!
Having played many Municipal Courses in Scotland there is absolutely no doubt this is one of the worst!
There are a couple of nice holes on the course but sadly it's largely featureless & boring to play ... in my opinion you're far better off playing better, more challenging, Municipal Courses in the area like 'Linn Park' or 'Rouken Glen' rather than choosing to spend your time & money playing here.
