My wife and booked with Rene' and were to say the least impressed! Everything was on time and his tour showed his passion for history and the area. Highly recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in a one on one experience as opposed to hopping on a tour bus.

Rene knows more about the history of this area and the entire Normandy invasion than anyone I have ever known. As a 25 year US Army veteran I have been on a lot of battlefield tours and have never had a guide this knowledgeable. He lives and breathes military history. Rene speaks perfect English and treated us like family for the two days we were with him. If you have an option I’ll save you some time researching guides…. Just hire Rene!

We can’t say enough about our tour with Rene! His knowledge and information from primary sources made our 8-hour tour fly-by. He’s patient, articulate and makes sure we were comfortable and answered all our questions. We traveled through Paris, Normandy, Mont St. Michel, Amboise & London, and we have to say, being on the D-Day tour with Rene was the most memorable! Do whatever you can to book with tour with Rene!

My wife and I opted for the private day tour. We were picked up by René at our hotel and immediately found that he is highly recommended for one of the best experiences for any devout student of history. René is extremely knowledgeable and has lived many years right in the area of Normandy and has excellent stories to share - and as a bonus he is fun to ride around with!
With many tours popping up around the area now we would recommend one who has the knowledge and expertise to ensure you have a good experience.

Why you should book Rene:
• Very personable and reliable.
• A true D-Day historian (since he was a young boy). Not a dilettante!
• Trained and certified WWII Airborne Parachutist (how many other guides can say that?)
• Knows/knew many D-Day veterans as friends as well as Band of Brothers vets
• Without asking, he researched our Grandfather's Division, medals he likely was awarded and areas of Normandy he likely went through. Very informative and kind of him to do.
• NOT like other well-known guided tours -- BETTER!
• Worth every penny for the experience he provides. A lifelong memory for us!
Rene proved himself to stand right with other well-known WWII guided tour names in the Normandy area and was, most certainly, the best choice for us. He doesn’t have a commercially ”branded” van like other guides, which makes his access to areas less intrusive – and to your benefit. Nor does he have novice staff to pass you off to like other guides we saw. He takes you himself. And, frankly, it’s Rene that makes the experience so memorable.
We would choose Rene again just to visit his incredible house across the street from the Sainte-Mère-Église church!
Thank you, so much, Rene!

I brought my family of 4 to Normandy for a tour of the D-day sights and found Rene on TripAdvisor. I cannot say enough good things about the job Rene did. He picked us up at our hotel in Bayeux and immediately took us to Sainte Mere Eglise where he lives on the square and it was non-stop stories from there. We got a personal tour through the museum and then drove throughout the various beaches and country-side sights that all played a role in the D-day invasion. Rene is truly an expert historian on the events, personally knows many of the vets, and knew exactly how to keep everyone engaged...included the kids. I HIGHLY recommend Rene to anyone doing a tour of Normandy and wish we could have stayed longer. He was not reading from a script like many of the tours. He made us feel like we were personally connected.

How many tours have you been on that were two hours long and it felt like forever? I can assure you, Rene of the Bayeux Sightseeing Tours made an eight hour tour seem like it went by too fast. Our three couples were picked up in Bayeux at our hotel and went to Sainte Mere Eglise and worked out way back to Bayeux. Rene did not leave out any details and during the ride we got to listen to an interview with Vince Speranza a paratrooper from the 101st Airborne Division who recently passed away in 2023. Upon leaving Utah beach, I asked Rene about Brecourt Manor, a farm where if you remember in Band of Brothers they took out the German artillery firing on Utah beach. Rene swung by Brecourt Manor. I cannot say enough about the experience. I knew all about the places we visited but Rene was able to share small details unknown to me that made it even better. I highly suggest using Rene for your Normandy tour

If I could give less than 1 star, I would. We made a private tour arrangement. Emailed to confirm the week before the trip. Arrived
In Carentan at scheduled time. No one
Showed up. Called the number and received a recording. Absolutely AWFUL. Absolutely undependable. Destroyed our plans to visit Normandy. Ended up taking a taxi to at least see American Cemetery What a disgrace!

Hi Sherry,
Sorry to hear your day did not go as planned.
So I looked into it. I received your email on November 5th. Sent you our offer, but never received a confirmation. Also checked our bookings and nothing there. Our calender, nothing there either. Checked our emails too and again, nothing there. Only you first enquiry November 5th and your mail from today March 8th.
If you can send me our confirmation for your tour, I will pay al the costs you had today regarding your missed tour.
Sometimes people mistake us with either, Normandy Sightseeing Tours or Bayeux Shuttle. Maybe you have sent your confirmation to them?
Looking forward hearing from you.
Kind regards,
Rene

Rene was an intelligent , enthusiastic guide. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge about D-day, World War II and the USA involvement. Our father fought in the Battle of Normandy and Rene tailored the tour to our interests. He displayed a respect and reverence for people who served in the armed forces. He was easy to understand. He picked us up at our lodgings, had a comfortable van with a PA system and invited us into his home. We highly recommend his full day tour.

Dear Sir: I was looking at your tours and want to see various parts of the Normandy Invasion at D Day. Know of thw war well as was 13 at Pearl Harbor Day. US Navy 46 to 50 and Korean War 51-52. Always wanted to see Omaha and the other places as have loads of books on them.
Just returned from a 17 day Northern Europetrip and cruise. Was to see Normandy at last stop, dock workers went on strike at Le Havre and did not get to see it..............................very disappointed.
Told wife we have to go back and try and get from Paris to Bayeux and take in some tours from there. I am going to work at setting up a trip for us in Aug or Sept and like what I see in your tours. Would gladly book with you.
One thing and that is I do not like to put numbers on the inter net. Could I book with you on phone or what ever when we get every thing set up. Not sure to try for mid August or Sept at the moment. Thanking you and hoping to book and see you later in the year. Sincerely, Tom Sulo

I will be in Monte St Michele aug 3 to 5 and wanted to arrange a private tour starting in Bayeux after arriving from Paris by train if possible, seeing the Normandy beaches and then being dropped back to Monte St Michele in the evening. I would appreciate your help with this. We return to Paris on the 5th but are somewhat flexible in the order we do things.
ThanksI

Hi Brett,
Thanks for your inquiry, but we do no pick up's from Mt St Michel. That's a 1.5h drive from St Mere Eglise and just to far out.
