After two days seeing Rome on our own, Scot led us on a third day of hitting spots we knew we missed and spots we (and others probably) would never have known about. Half day on foot and half day with a driver, In addition to knowing what to see, he had great stories and background to accompany each location. He also provided great tips for the rest of the trip, including hotel and restaurant recommendations and key planning hints.

WOW!

Rina (Bella!) and Scott (The LovingItaly Tour Guides... extraordinaire), planned, scheduled and guided our group of six from Rome to Florence/Tuscany to Chianti to Sorrento to Positano to Amalfi, Capri and back. Simply put, our expectations were exceeded every step of the way!

Knowledgeable? ... Check! Adaptable? ... Check? Caring? ... Check! Kind? ... Check! Fun? ... Absolutely! All we did was layout our general guidelines and expectations, settle on our rough budget and the plan just seamlessly came together.

From knowing the best time to visit the "hot" tourist spots to dealing with unexpected challenges, the Scot/Rina team were always on their game, making every day a stress free day.

Train arrival delayed 2 hours? It's no big deal when Scot can instantly list 3 or 4 "activity options" to pass the time. From visiting an outdoor market, to touring a centuries old cathedral to grabbing a cold "refreshment" in a friendly pub, he helped us pass the time .... and actually enjoy a travel delay - stress free. Have a specific food request or dining style? Consider it done with Rina and Scot on the job ... just be prepared for the best meals you've ever tasted, each one seeming to out do the previous!

Heck, we loved our "guides" so much that on our "free and casual day" we invited them to hang with us and quite honestly, it was like hanging with a couple of good friends back home. From train tickets at the ready, to hotels and villa owners waiting and welcoming, to a driver always standing by for the next adventure or a fisherman welcoming us into his boat for a "Three Hour Tour" (Yikes) ... this trip was magnifico!

Mix together the history of Rome with some of the awe of the Vatican, add in the beauty of Tuscany and colorful excitement of Positano and the Amalfi coast sprinkled daily with superb food and wine surrounded by special friends (Scot and Rina included" and you have a recipe for a .... ROMAN HOLIDAY TO REMEMBER!

Thank you Scot and Rina - Hope to have you show us around Sicily some day for the our version of ... Roman Holiday Part II.

Your friends from Texas ...

Scot took my husband and me around Rome in March 2014. He was unbelievably knowledgeable and shared interesting facts about all the sights. He also had wonderful recommendations about places we could see and restaurants we could try without him. I will definitely be in touch with Scot if our travel takes us back to Italy.

We have toured throughout Italy with Scot and Rina multiple times, and I cannot give them a high enough recommendation. Rome, Florence, Siena, the Amalfi Coast - they know it all so very well, and make every moment of a tour such a pleasure. Visiting the Vatican, Ancient Rome, Ostia Antica, Borghese Gallery, or wherever you choose to go, you are not just getting a simple tour, you are getting an education. I don't think I've ever had such a wonderful explanation of the works in a gallery as my tour of Borghese Gallery with Scot. Beyond the touring we've done as a couple, Scot also came to the rescue for my mother when she was on a group tour in Rome. He met her after a she'd had a rather stressful morning with her group, took her to a cafe to let her relax and talk for a bit and then accompanied her around Ancient Rome at her pace, and on her timetable, before returning her to the hotel. In addition to their wonderful skills as guides, Scot is also a very accomplished photographer, and he has helped me to look at each place we visit in a totally different way. I still remember one of our visits to Rome, on an especially rainy day, when he told me to "look down" and see some of the beautiful reflections in the puddles and the way the cobblestones look with that "just wet" look. We are returning for our 15th visit to Italy this May, and we will most certainly be spending part of that visit with Scot and Rina.

We enjoyed seeing Pompeii, Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast with Scot and Rina. We (me, my husband, son (16) , daughter (15) felt so comfortable with them.. They were very knowledge tour guides and boy, could Rina drive that van! We enjoyed every minute of our trip with them, from the tours they provided to the great restaurant suggestions, we would not have done it any different. We hope at some point to go back to Italy and have them guide us through the Northern part of the country even though we know their heart belongs to Positano:) We would highly recommend them for your touring of Italy! Ciao.....

My family -my 3 kids ages 9-18, my parents (75) and my husband and I went to Italy last spring to celebrate my oldest son's high school graduation and more importantly, my parents' 50th wedding anniversary. We planned to visit Rome, Venice and Sorrento. A friend recommended Rina and Scot and I'm so thankful! It's not easy to plan a trip for people of all age groups! They were booked for the day we were in Venice, so they arranged for a friend to show us around the city - she was also amazing! We felt like royalty getting into Cathedrals in the back entrance and having private tours of the Murano glass factory. My son's 18th birthday was spent on the island of Capri. Scot and Rina rented a boat and we boated around the island before getting to the island to explore. It was a prefect day! They recommended their favorite restaurants, which were all superb. My 9 year old daughter had a crush on Scot, which made it easier to get her to stand still and listen to them when they told of us the history of the churches, art and architecture. It was the perfect trip to Italy and I know that was in large part due to the services of Scot and Rina. By the end of our trip they felt like family. The booking was easy and totally by email. We would highly recommend their services!!

Rina and Scot were the difference between a good trip to Italy and a great trip to Italy (our first). We did both car touring and walking tours in and around Rome, Florence, Siena and the Tuscan countryside. Rina and Scot made sure it all went smoothly and added in depth knowledge of the art, culture and architecture. And food! And wine! And gelato! They arranged car service for us to and from the airport. Bought tickets in advance so we did not wait on line. When we explored on our own, Rina and Scot provided advice on restaurants and what to see. On our return to Italy, the first call in planning will be to Rina and Scot.

What a delightful day trip for my adult daughters and I. It was a relaxed and flexible adventure to visit 'ancient' Siena and the hill town of San Gimignano‎ with Rina and Scot. There were many facts and stories that we would have missed on our own and driving in Italy was not something I was willing to try which they handled with ease. They were most agreeable about our adding at the last minute, my nephew whom we unexpectedly ran into in Florence. As an added bonus, they found the best pizza and gelato we found in Italy.

I can't imagine traveling in Italy any other way. Scot and Rina made our trip stress free from the start. Planning our week was very easy and tailored to our travel style, including a phone call to go over travel plans. Rina met us at Florence airport and made sure we were checked into our apartment. All train tickets and private transfers were taken care of, with no wasting of time anywhere. We had five days to cover a lot of Italy. From Florence we took fast train to Naples, where the private driver and the route to Positano was something we will never forget. All hotels were chosen by Rina and Scot and the accommodations were perfect for our family---remember there are few hotels for 4, so our son and daughter had their own room. Rina arranged for the rooms to always be next to each other. A day on Capri included a private boat ride (highly recommend), then off to Sorrento by hydrofoil. Our driver graciously transferred our luggage from Positano to Sorrento while we enjoyed the day at Capri Island. We loved all the recommendations for dining out. We were known to order up to 5 desserts so we didn't miss anything good. We back tracked to Naples and took fast train to Rome for the night. Scot's knowledge was amazing--my son and husband loved all the detail and history. Ostia was a side trip suggested instead of Pompeii---glad we took Scot's advice, it was worth the time to see. One of the best things about Rina and Scot is their flexibility to work with you and make changes to fit in things you want to see. We did not plan on seeing the Pope, but Scot guided us to the perfect place to see him, when decided to include that in our morning in Rome. We would have never experienced the Pope if we had been by ourselves. Rina and Scot brought every town to life with their knowledge and little details. I loved Siena, which was a day trip once we got back to Florence from Rome. We closed our last day at a winery telling Texas tales. Scot and Rina were the perfect guides allowing free time for family dinners at wonderful Florence restaurants, making sure we found the best gelato places, and tolerating us when we covered the pizza with red pepper. Our trip was PERFECT thanks to Scot and Rina. I hope they will come visit us in Texas.

Spent 8 days in Florence with two side trips, Venice & Rome via the train. If you have not traveled Europe before, this would be a great introduction. Florence is home to the original Michael Angelo's "David", great restaurants, and bargain leather goods. We rented a house high on a hill and while the view was spectacular, I recommend staying in the city. Climbing a long hill a few times a day will kill those over 40. Use the ATM's to get Euro's and be done with "the best deal". Discover Card does not charge a fee when you buy something or pay for dinner. You can easily spend a week in Florence, but take the train to Venice and if you want, to Rome. The crowds are HUGE, somewhat similar to Disneyland. No problem with language as most everyone speaks English. Italy is a fabulous place and expect food to be expensive ($120) per person per day for 3 nice meals. Trains $78 to $$150 round trip each depending on level of class. Casual is fine in any restaurant for any meal. Wine is the best deal in Italy, drink wine and be merry. Not sure anyone really works in Italy, how cool is that? Be prepared to walk everywhere. Love Italy and Florence is a great location with all the history you could ever want to soak in. Oh, If you go to Venice or Rome, make sure you have prearrange a guide, hotels can get you connected. Turn of Data in your cell phone and use Wi fi as it is everywhere and free.
