Our coach dropped us off right by the road train and while they were on a break, there was enough of us to warrant them doing an unscheduled trip. It was pleasant, the sun was shining, we made a note of a few places we wanted to go back and look at. We saw the oldest two houses in Interlaken and some lovely cows, took some nice pictures which we would not have seen had we tried to walk it all.

If you want to see Interlakem quickly this is worth trying. Lasts a half an hour. English is included in their commentary and although it is not a big place takes you to the more interesting places. The only negative for me is that it was a ver hot day and we were in a carriage with no opening Windows actually there were very few opening windows in the train. I was glad to get out at the end. Unfortunate but still worth a trip.

~a short stroll down Hoheweg you'd hardly miss the HUGE sprawling park
~somewhere near Strandbadstrasse you should see the Motosi Brothers sightseeing train the "Bodelibahn"
~we used the Swiss Coupon Pass to get a 1 for 1 which was reasonably priced for a 45mins tour round the old town, town, casino & interesting spots
I remember how the train driver coming to ask what language we preferred and some of the riders said "Hindi", we were pleasantly surprised to learn that the Motosi Brothers took pains to self narrate pre-recorded CDs of themselves talking about the sights at each stop in multiple languages including Mandarin!
It was a Short & Fun ride I'd easily suggest to tourists passing thru :)

As regular mini-train tourists we're used to cramp conditions i.e. not enough leg room, and this was pretty much the same as most other trains we've done. However, it proved a good way to see the back streets of Interlaken on both sides of the river. Bearing in mind that most tourists, especially day trippers, will only see the main street, and anyone who has been to Interlaken will know which this is - it's so obvious, it was refreshing to be taken off this well-beaten track.
The cost was CHF9 per person and the pre-recorded, somewhat lightweight commentary was in English and German...well mainly German but with enough English to hold some interest.
However, even going into the back streets, there was not really much to see although it provided a reasonable overview of the town. The commentary was often hard to hear and decipher because of the train noise, the passing traffic and a low volume setting. At around 30 minutes and this was the time advertised, so no deception, it was one of the shortest mini-train tours I've ever been on which probably reflects the size of central Interlaken and the lack of man-made distinguishing attractions.
For what it is and the time it takes it's an expensive train ride. Other places offer 50-60 minute tours for this price, but of course this is Switzerland, and Interlaken's main features are of course the god-given mountains surrounding the town and the river flowing through the town.
Overall, a decidedly average mini-train tour.

This is a nice tour with the "Bödelibahn Mini Train" to start your visit to interlaken especially if kids are with you. The tour start from the "Kursaal Park" entrance, in front of "Victoria Jungfrau Grand Hotel". The tour takes about 30 min and costs CHF 9 for adults. There is a recorded voice gives highlights of main places in interlaken as well as highlighting the main historical events.
We enjoyed this trip. It is not a must but rather nice to do light activity. You can later on walk through the same path for longer visits of the places you liked.

Would someone be able to give me a timetable for the Bodelibahn train in Interlaken please. There is a map on the website, and was wondering if you can get on at any of the the numbered sites or just site 1 at Kursaal Park. Thankyou
