Nice little boat and if it’s a good day a very pleasant way to see Beachy Head. Good friendly crew and worth the money.

A fantastic trip out of Sovereign harbour along coast toward Burling gap .
Thrilling when engines opened up and was bouncing along the waves.
Be prepared to get a little wet even with wet gear provided.
A great time had by all

we had a lovely trip on this power boat and went around the lighthouse. We had lovely weather & the crew pointed out all the places of interest. We really enjoyed the trip although it was very expensive

Peter is friendly and helpful, has a wealth of local knowledge and jokes about pirates.
We went on the trip to Beachy Head, it takes about an hour. There was a slight mix up with my booking but they went out of their way to resolve what was probably my mistake. In the harbour and on the trip we were told many facts about the local area and lighthouse. It was also great fun going fast in the rib! We always felt safe in the capable hands of the skipper who's name I cannot remember. I am looking forward to going on it next year to the Sovereign Lighthouse. This trip is a must if you want to learn about local facts and pirate jokes.
Five stars is not enough so here's 10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A great way to see a view you never normally see and that is from a high speed boat.
Just the trip out was great fun, skipping over the waves and the ride was actually very smooth and not a bone jarring experience.
The trip starts with a friendly welcome, but be aware of the pirate jokes!!
The craw provide all the waterproofs, as you WILL get wet, not soaking, just a little damp, all part of the fun.
Again, another sight you do not normally get, is from the lock as you leave the harbour.
You do get a bit on the local history, some I had not heard before, despite being local.
The whole trip last an hour, so very good value for money, although you need to allow 2 hours from start to finish.
If you take a camera, make sure you have water protection for this during the trip. I put the camera in the coat pocket of the waterproof.
Although it was fairly calm, around the head there was a bit of a swell, but as they moved close to the lighthouse, it did calm down. Of course, this will vary from flat calm to a fair swell, but you only go if it is 100% safe, as the first trip we booked was cancelled owing to the wind speed.
You get another brief history of the area and and few facts about the lighthouse.
Nothing seemed rushed, just a pleasant time.
It would suit most people that like a bit of adventure, or local history.
Would I do it again, yes and we are going to go again next year when relatives visit us.

Beware that if your playful children pull the chord of a life jacket, you get hit with a £30 charge. This was neither pointed out in the paperwork and seems excessive as you can buy a new life jacket for £45. I was told on the phone that in order to have the children in front of me - to supervise - 'Just turn up early and have a word with the skipper', but was told as we were there, that kids have to sit at the back.

As this is your second boat trip with us you will be familiar with our pre boat trip paperwork (passenger manifest) that all adult passengers need to read and then complete on behalf of all their group.
The terms and conditions that you must read and (have signed up to) details the risks associated with boat trips (with regard to medical conditions such as spinal problems and pregnancy) the last paragraph (in large clear font) does clearly state that activation of a lifejacket in a non emergency situation cost £30
Lifejackets are integral to passenger safety, once activated require a full service and inspection and need to be taken out of use until this is done.
The Ships Master on your trip offered you the choice of any of the three rear seats (that are designed to take 3 people), but for whatever reason you chose to sit towards the front of the boat away from the two children in your care, and as such another adult (not with your party) had to sit along side them.
(As crew on the day I sat along side you and was chatting to you on the outward journey and you never mentioned any concern about not sitting along side the children in your care - as such I can only assume you were happy with the seating arrangments)
Sussex Voyages are sorry that your second voyage with us was not as pleasurable as your previous voyage, and that of our 1000+ passengers in 2016 this has been the only activation of a lifejacket.

I took my wife on her birthday, family and friends out for a surprise outing. We did a private hire trip out to Cuckmere Haven . Absolutely fantastic outing .

What fun! A trip to the Sovereign Light Tower! We were issued with waterproof trousers and jacket.. I went prepared with a fleece underneath with a hood and sunglasses.. Apparently I sat in the worst seat (at the back )for the spray..! I needed windscreen wipers for my sunglasses, put up my hood to keep the spray and wind out of my ears, and held on tight...when we arrived we could take photos...Girls, definately a bad hair day, best tied up out of the way....On arriving back in Sovereign Harbour and peeling off the waterproofs, I was wet down to my knickers but still smiling!!!

Went on both the Sovereign Light Tower and Beachy Head trips over the Airbourne weekend for something a little different and these trips certainly did not disappoint! The crew are really friendly and make the trips enjoyable and informative. Loved the Sovereign Light Tower...amazing to get so close to it. Like it's been said before, if you don't want to get a little "wet", sit nearer to the front. Personally I found it fun. You are provided with waterproof coat and trousers. Beachy Head trip was great being Airbourne. All the other boats waving and planes flying over was brilliant. Will definitely be taking my small one on the trip as a treat. And would definitely recommend to anyone to do. Very good value for money.

Fab trip out to Beachy Head lighthouse. Great weather, brilliant added bonus of the air show and a little race with the lifeboat! Felt safe in the hands of the crew and a bit of excitement hopping the choppy waves!

There are 2 different trips. One is a blast down to Beachy Head Lighthouse, very exhilarating and great fun, you will get wet (wet weather gear is provided) takes about 1 hour in total including the briefing etc.
The other is a longer slower trip which goes further down the coast, total time is probably around 1 1/2hr total.
I believe all this information is available from their website.

Not a problem for non swimmers (we take babies) prices vary depending on which trip.
