This is a hidden gem. Private beaches and calm waters for snorkeling or just hanging at the beach. Off the beaten path so its quiet and secluded.

First heard of this spot after seeing some awesome aerial shots of the beach huts on stilts in the water, and decided to make it a must see/photograph for our trip here. I think the most impressive view is from the air, so if you have a drone...bring it. I didn't go down to the water and swim since it is February, so I can't speak to the quality of sand /water. Very cool location if you're into abandoned places, and especially interesting if you read up on the history. If you're taking public transportation, expect a bit of a walk from the bus stop in somerset. If you have a car or scooter, you can drive right down to the park itself and its a quick walk to the tip. Absolutely wild to think about the fact that such a prime location went belly up.

It is sad the small cottages are not for rent anymore. Water is shallow and calm, great for kids. Has kids water park area. We swam with turtles, 2 of them would approach us within arms reach then leave and return again. long walk from Bus stop.

This is the spot with the decaying dilapidated resort called “9 Beaches”. It’s some sad but visual interest. A little off the beaten path but very cool to spend some time there.

Thank you for your feedback. We're glad you enjoyed your time at Daniel's Head. Currently we are getting ready for the summer season and there will be lots of fun beach activities including Bermuda's only floating water park. The former resort known as 9 Beaches was tied up in litigation, but now we are seeking interested investors to develop the site. It's a beautiful area with lovely beaches and great place to visit. We hope you'll come back again soon.

Awesome protected beaches to enjoy on a windy day when the wind is coming in from the east. Beautiful, serene views.

This is a beautiful location... While swimming there you can sea turtles popping their heads up every now and then be in the right place at the right time and they will swim right past you.

The water is perfect for families with small children..my kids love it...lots of sea turtles to see . There is also now a water bouncy play ground on the water my 9 year old loved it. They also sell snow balls and other snack items. They have rentals for different water activities too.
It’s a bit of a walk from the main road but worth it if you stay awhile.

The beaches are nice ,but best part was swimming amongst the turtles in the shallow crystal clear water. There is some shade , toilets and a small kiosk selling drinks.
The only thing that was annoying was the groups of tourists from the cruise ships zooming around on jet skis annoying the local people and turtles.

We explored 9 different beaches during our 10days stay in Bermuda. This beach was the worst by far. The beach is full of broken glass. Groups of water scooters coming from the cruising boats located at the DockYard come and stop and disturb the area. Smell gaz as well.
We decided to stay but went to the beach to the right . Not much better for broken glass, but was ok for few hours. I could swim with few turtles that is the only positive comment I would say.
The water is quiet and not very deep. The sand is not as nice and full of algues. I would not bring child’s because of the broken glass.
Very disappointed- I wished I read the most recent 2017 comments from this site.
There are so many nice beaches - do not spent time to go at this one!

Lovely little park away from most touristy areas. We saw sea turtles and rented paddle boards to go see an old ship wreck. Beautiful days spent here on two separate trips

Hi,
Its been three years since we have returned to berumda, we are returning this August 2020.
The last time we visited Daniels Head Beach there was lots of glass on the beaches, due to the sailing regatte the previous year. Plus a awful stink coming from the toilets near the rental shops/restaurant on the old resort (9 beaches) side of the beach.
My question is, before we return to Daniels beach, which we loved, has these issues, glass, smell be taking care of ?
Thank you
James

I really think this is where I want to take my girls. Are there umbrellas to rent or some type of shade? What exactly should I tell the taxi driver where I want to go? Is there transportation available for me to return to my cruise ship?

Hello Hoski, Daniel's Head is a wonderful place to take the whole family. There's so much fun at X20's floating water park and just enjoying the picturesque surroundings. You may even spot some turtles! Your taxi driver will know Daniel's Head, although many still refer to it as the old 9 Beaches property. You will need to organise your own transportation back to the cruise ship - perhaps booking the same taxi driver who dropped you off. Also, check with your cruise ship concierge as they may provide some type of transportation service. There are plenty of shady spots available and X20 Adventures also rents out beach umbrellas at $15 for the day. We hope you have a great time with your girls in Bermuda and at Daniel's Head!
