Though the Parsi Agyari was apparently the most simple architectural specimen of Jamnagar, the interior murals on the walls, the carved pillars, the wax-paintings on the ceilings were just wonderful and unique.

For all Parsis it is a must visit place in Jamnagar. A very serene and peaceful location in the middle of the city near town hall. The fire temples are generally no entry for non parsis.

This is not exactly an attraction, but a place of worship for the Parsi/Irani Zoroastrian community. Situated opposite the Town Hall in the heart of Jamnagar, it's an old fire temple and prayer hall consecrated in 1895.

Entry is restricted to the Zoroastrians, but as with the case with most fire temples in small and far away towns in Gujarat or the rest of India, this fire temple, too, is not frequented by many Zoroastrians. The Parsi population in Jamnagar is miniscule, so obviously, it's only very rarely that the community members come here to pay their respect.

I had visited this Agiary in April along with my parents, and had the good fortune of worshipping the fire here. There used to be a rest house in the same premises, but due to neglect and lack of users, it is now converted to a recreational hall, and I believe a small nursery class for kids is also being run here.

Would urge my fellow community members, atleast who live in the vicinity of Jamnagar and nearby towns like Rajkot to pay their respects whenever possible to this sacred institution.
