Without the aquarium place is not the same anymore. Little to see, however kids enjoyed themselves at the museum. Hopefully soon the aquarium will be restored.

It is still closed with no idea when they will open. Maybe call and ask again if you want to visit.

Amusing snakes and other reptiles and amphibians . A cheeky Sea :Lion kissed me as part of the animal show . What a shame about all the drowned sailors from wrecks detailed in the worthwhile museum . I think all the fish and dolphins may have passed on as they are no longer in evidence . 2 hours well spent. And cheap !

On arrival we were treated rather poorly. Granted we came in the afternoon, there was no need to be rude. We arrived an hour and a half before closing time and were practically chased out. Luckily we persuaded the people behind the counter to let us in for a little while.
The animal enclosures were a bit small for the amount of animals present but it was amazing to see the animals up close. I would recommend more space for the animals to roam though.
Other than that, it was lovely to see the Penguins, Seals and Sea Turtles.

There is also a museum with a wide variety of historical exhibits. It was a pleasant surprise since we were expecting more marine life. But it was still very enjoyable.
It was just a shame we were so rushed.
I would recommend going in the early morning when they open, to avoid squabbles and to enjoy the park to the fullest.

We visited as a family group of seven, including our two grandsons aged 9 and 13. The immediate impression is that the place is a bit sad, neglected and deserted. This is such a shame though, as there is still plenty to see. We spent most of our time in the museum, which is huge, sprawling and a bit random, but thoroughly entertaining. You might find, for example, that a gallery on wildlife leads to African history and then to fashion through the ages before hitting wildlife again. In fact we all found it very interesting, and we emerged a couple of hours later.
We then went to see the seals and penguins and were fortunate to time it with the feeding of the seals and a little show by Lucki, one of the seals. Their habitat looks a little run down but all the animals seemed happy and well cared for.
We had a light lunch in the Memories café, where the food was good and service friendly.
In reality, we agreed that we had spent an enjoyable few hours at a really low cost, as the admission is very cheap.

Very small aquarium area but they do a short presentation with seals and penguins.

** accessiblilty may be an issue. I had to climb down a set of stairs for the toilet but there may be one in the main building.

The marine section of Bayworld is sad and neglected and almost non-existed. Due to a labour dispute, the centre is closed on weekends until further notice. However, on the day there were two groups of primary school kids who obviously had a ball, enjoying the antics of the three seals and the small colony of penguins who wandered sadly around a concrete dam with only a garden hose providing water. The snake section was just as small and with an air of neglect. The lone crocodile and turle looked lost. However, the museum more than made up for it - most interesting section of seafearers and shipwrecks, dinosaurs and fossils, fishes and birds, and upstairs, the history of Port Elizabeth. Not interactive, though. A light lunch at the cafe outside the museum is also well worth it. Food tasty and staff friendly.
