I never got to see this place from the inside while visiting my grandparents. At that time two people occupied the home. I was 6 and the place looked huge. My grandparents house burnt down in the late 50's. Well worth the visit for me. It is a museum now.

The house is pre-civil war. It is full of antiques and is a must visit for anybody interested in old houses and beautiful furniture. We had a very knowledgable guide who took his time in describing the rooms, the past owners and the furniture.

This house is worth a special trip. Recommend it Highly

The people giving the tour are amazingly well mannered. Very accommodating and informative. The museum was closed the day I planned to view it. I ended up walking a few blocks to another museum type building. The guy there actually owned the Newton House and ended up giving me a tour of BOTH museums.

A confederate flag once flew in front. Not anymore. Everywhere they are stripping away history. The house is authentic. Brings history to light but not as it once did

Neat place for a quick visit and a little history lesson. I have been to a few weddings here, neat place to hold a small wedding.

My grandmother's house was next store to the Newton house. In the 50's I lived next door with my grandparents. The house was always a mystery. I got to go inside and learned of the history of this home. It is worth the visit. My grandmother's home burnt down in the late 50's early 60's.

Historic, (by US standards) but interesting neverthless tour, by the Director. The house had been moved by Murphy Oil about 200 yards to its present location, but you'd never know.

Great place for parties and events. Neat house, roomy, back yard is great place for outdoor parties. It's a great part of El Dorado's history.
