This was the trip of a lifetime. The entire team at Peak Planet was professional, pleasant, and truly attentive to every aspect of the trip. Exceptional service starting with my first call to the US office right through to the emotional goodbyes when I left to fly home. I made new friends among my fellow climbers as well as the entire crew.
We did the 6-day Rongai Trek through the northern rainforest and summited to see the most fantastic sunrise. These guys/gals are the real deal!

Absolutely lovely experience, it was so memorable and once in a lifetime experience for our whole group. We loved our team - the porters, guides, waiter, and chef all went above and beyond our expectations.
We found that the hike is so well organized, and felt safe the whole time. It is also an absolute luxury in the wilderness with hot meals for lunch and dinner (food is amazing by the way), and hot coffee brought to the tent in the mornings.
Thank you Peak Planet for bringing us such a wonderful team and memorable experience of a lifetime. Highly recommend them with no reservations at all!

Peak Planet did a phenomenal job of taking care of our group and doing the best they could to help us succeed. The guides and porters were extremely helpful, and this group prioritizes safety and health, making all of us feel well taken care of. 7/10 of our group summitted, and not having to worry about camp logistics took a huge burden off our shoulders. Highly recommended to anyone interested in climbing Kilimanjaro.

Our group of 10 had an AMAZING 7 day climb up the Machame route. The porters, guides, and cooks were incredible. I would recommend at least a 7 day climb to get acclimated. Highly professional staff, timely responses, great value for the incredible service we got, and overall an A+ experience. Would definitely recommend Peak Planet to a friend.

From start to finish we were made to feel special, our guides and porters really cared, and the organization was superb. Attention was made to every little detail, and they helped us achieve a life affirming experience in climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. Everyone involved was most excellent.

After climbing in Indian and Nepalese Himalayas during last decade, I decided to climb Kilimanjaro. I came solo and joined a group of other 6 climbers. During our climb, I experienced what I have never experienced before in my life. The way local Tanzanians folks who work with Peak Planet welcomed us in their life with open hearts and hands, the climbing expedition became more than a climb by the end. We all felt so connected with each other and especially with the staff and the guides that Summiting Kilimanjaro happened to be just one out of the 100 beautiful memories on the mountain. There are many memories which are equally beautiful that we shared with group and staff. Wish all climbs in the world had similar experience.
After observing the other groups on the mountain, some of them unfortunately didn’t have a strong lead guide like DAVIS from peak planet, one can see how much the leadership counts in the overall joy and success of the climb. Our lead guide helped other group members too when few climbers got AMS.
In the end climbing Kilimanjaro happened to be one of the best journey of my life so far, especially because of peak planet hospitality!!
Hakunamatata 🙏🏼

There are several companies who claim to be the best--and I'm sure they are good, maybe great--but there is no company who can compare to PEAK PLANET. From the first email to the last hugs as our crew returned us to our Hotel, the experience, the people, the preparation, was extraordinary. What makes them so? See below (please):

Ben, the amazing man who makes it all happen. He not only planned, re-planned, gave incredibly helpful advice and answered our gazillion questions completely and with incredible patience, but did so quickly and with great suggestions and insights.

Our group--this was luck. Or fate. There were nine of us, 8 of us from the States and one from Australia who chose the Northern Circuit. We fit well with one another and truly enjoyed being together--we laughed, encouraged, supported and helped each other. We genuinely cared for each other (and our guides and crew). They are indeed friends now.

Devis, our Chief Guide. His wisdom, skill and knowledge of the mountain, of AAS symptoms, treatment and emergency care is well known by other guides---not just Peak Planet but other companies climbing the mountain. A guide from another company after greeting Devis at the back of the line, returned my greeting as he was walking past and said, "You are walking with a legend, you know? You are in good hands".
Each person who made up our group was very independent, strong willed and not used to giving over control to someone we've just met. Devis saw this and didn't mind.
He is a natural leader.
Before Devis finished his briefing, a solid sense of trust and unquestionable respect had settled in my gut. He was stern but laughed easily, was honest without scaring us--He was our Coach Simba. When several of us got respiratory infections, he knew by the sound of the cough, who it was and would arrive at our tent (even late at night) with hot ginger tea (made with fresh ginger root by our chef, Peter), would bring us Tiger Balm to slather on to help open up our airway. He knew how to treat the associated altitude ailments and did so the minute any popped up, he valued the insight and observations of the other guides; he treated us as climbers and as his charges. He, along with the other guides and crew were committed to doing everything in their power to ensure we summited---and we did. Every one of us, because of them.

ChaCha, George and Cash: our three guides. They were Devis' eyes and ears as we trekked each day. They did our health checks, twice a day--and added that to their observations to glean a full picture (and they talked privately about how we were doing with each other and Devis). All three men carry a deep knowledge of the mountain and of the symptoms/treatment of AAS as well as mountain emergency care (think falls, sprains, slips, cuts, etc). Each had his own way of encouraging, helping, guiding and caring for us.
ChaCha was full of good cheer and mischief: he sang, high-fived, back patted us while loudly praising us and making us laugh. He had amazing reflexes—-he always seemed to to reach out and grab a hand, backpack or arm to keep people from falling when they stumbled, slipped or in my case, got a foot stuck in a space between boulders and was headed face first for the ground.
Cash would often join in ChaChas singing, but would also quietly walk alongside one of us, sometimes talking, other times just offering quiet company when we were struggling. He knew when we needed a break, when we were not feeling our best but trying not to show it—he always seemed to know when we needed help before we knew we needed help. Cash would just gently take a pack from someone, reach down and fix their gaiters or ask where in our pack we were carrying our sunglasses or gloves and get them for us.
George had a gentleness, a calm about him that you could literally feel when you were with him. There was always the feeling nothing bad would happen when he was close by. He often talked with one person or a small group while trekking and was a great language teacher (he never rolled his eyes at our pathetic pronunciations of Swahili words---just repeated them with a smile). When we had to navigate difficult terrain, the guides would all take places along the way, holding out a hand, steadying us as we balanced on a rock before our next step, telling us we "had this". George was always the last guide in the line up---the one who got us over the scariest parts of the trek.
They will all make incredible Chief guides one day.

Our porters. They were the absolute life blood of this trek. Their joy, their concern---their love was astounding. They greeted us in the mornings with hugs, came out to greet us when we were getting close to camp in the afternoons to take our packs and tell us what an awesome job we were doing. They hauled our spirits and weary bodies and minds out of the mud and onto the mountain top with their singing and dancing--their high fives, fist bumps and hugs. The camp was always PERFECT. They put so much care into everything they did. Coffee/tea in the mornings; hot water to wash up a bit, the dining tent with table set just so and hot water in endless supply (side note to the guy who thought diarrhea in his group was possible shoddy water purification: Diarrhea is one of the most common and earliest signs of altitude maladjustment. It wasn't the water, it was the altitude). The toilet tents were cleaner and smelled better than many bathrooms in nice restaurants. Peter, our chef, made wonderful, hot and delicious meals and snacks (and presented us with a cake when we arrived at camp after summiting---who can BAKE A CAKE on a mountain??! --Peter, that's who). These men and women worked tirelessly to make the camp, the food, the tents, everything perfect for us.
The celebration of our summiting was absolutely incredible--these men and women celebrated with us as family would. And in our hearts, they are and will always be family.
I guess that's it, in a nutshell: The people who are Peak Planet are really just family you haven’t met yet.

After a very satisfying communication during the booking process we had very high expectations for this adventure. In reality we were still surprised with the quality of the organisation and service provided. This goes for the guides, cook and all the porters, all working harmoniously and eager to please us. The team was crucial for us to achieve the summit and the journey was made very pleasant and safe thanks to all of them.

I have done many multi-day hike and several high altitude peaks across the world. I’ve never had an expletive like with peak planet in Kilimanjaro. The process, the people, the food, the porters, the logistics, everything was above and beyond. Don’t ever look at another company. Book here
