In the summer, it's definitely a place for relaxation, not a lot of activity. If you go by the hot springs, there are sections with a very strong smell of sulfur. Walk a 100 feet away, and there is no smell.
Kipp's Grill! Excellent tacos!!!!

Our family enjoys being able to learn some of the local history of the areas we visit, since it helps provide a bigger and/or better picture when you know more about it. So, we stopped by this museum to learn a bit more about Pagosa Springs. The building isn’t very big, but it’s packed full of various items from throughout the past couple centuries. It’s impressive just how many different things they’ve put into the museum, such as having a few sections that with old-time businesses/offices. In fact, my only criticism is that the museum isn’t better organized (i.e., feels a little hodgepodge with so much stuff).

There is no admission charge to visit the museum, although they do appreciate donations. They also have a small gift shop by the front entrance for those interested in taking some local crafts and/or history home with them. Staff are friendly and informative as well, which helped make the visit an enjoyable one from start to finish.

I was surprised by how many artifacts this museum packed into a small space. There was no cover charge but donations were welcome.

Passing through town and saw this little bit of history museum. It was interesting just remember it's small. But the ladies inside were full of the town history. Always worth the time to see items of history.

This is a small but quaint museum about Pagosa Springs and it's people. Lots of interesting item to see. Locals that volunteer are very knowledgeable about the history. Small book shop. Learn about Pagosa before you visit.

They have a great collection here of antiquity!! Lot of history of Pagosa Springs and how it came to be. This museum is run by the sweetest volunteers...one of which is a historian and has written a series of journels all about the history of Pagosa Springs! You will thoroughly enjoy this if you like history and the 'good 'ol days.' Lots of antiques and things I never knew existed. We were amazed!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this little museum. Lots of old collections and beautiful quilts and bags. Lots of equipment, tools, and objects used daily a century ago in a western community. Worth stopping in for an hour or less.

It's amazing how much they are able to pack into a relatively small building. Very nice exhibits on the history and development of Pagosa Springs. Also an excellent exhibit of local quilts.
