siamo arrivati a Ilkeston dagli Amici italiani e sardi per una decina di giorni. appena possibile si andava a fare una bella pinta in quanto il pèrsonale è gentilissimo e partecipa alle allegre risate. Speriamo di tornare al più presto

We used the davey lamp for my sons birthday , The owner and staff were great helping us with balloons and even offers a catering and entertainment package. We had a party for around 100 people and the bar staff were very efficient getting everyone served and the disco and karaoke was amazing. My son said it was the best day off his life and we often now pop in because of the excellent service we received. Thank you so much x

We have visited the Davy Lamp a few times recently, and although we only live around the corner I wouldn’t consider us as locals, we go in every now and then, however in my opinion that shouldn’t matter. Tonight we decided to end our evening here. We’ve been here before with the karaoke Friday and enjoyed the entertainment. Tonight however it was a nightmare. A rather drunk set of youths smashing mobiles around spoilt that. Then at 11.45pm we were asked very abruptly by the landlady (who nearly took our rather full glasses away) if we “were done” I said no - and followed this with a “are you kicking us out?” Which we were given a very firm “yes”. She came back moments later to clear away the bar mats. The other side of the bar which obviously houses the “locals” were happily relaxing drinking their pints at leisure. She (landylady) obviously thought we were part of the drunken gang (even though they had already left and we were quietly sipping our drinks and we were all a lot older than them!). I feel very disappointed. As a local ilson girl who has frequented this pub every now and then has been made to feel like crap because of the landlady. She’s very rude and I will not be going back. We’ve (as a group of 4) spent a lot in here recently but we will be going back up to the town centre and leaving this narrow minded landylady to it! Good luck in the future.

Have been to a few celebrations here, think of a village hall with beer. Good staff, poor toilets (get a lock!) fine beer. With all the ambience of a working men's club of the 1970's. Not for the pretentious. A good adequate hostelry.

Needs a clean never seen a pub so dirty in my life carpet black walls yellow ceiling yellow from old smoking times, my kid was doing hand stand and his hands were black wish I'd taken photos but we just had to run for it 😷

splendid views of charnos, stood on the front with a superking metal and a pint of doombar which may i add was the smoothest thing thats ever graced my throat. cant wait to go back and sit on the lovely benches. #splinters

Friendly pub, good prices, the banter between the Derby and Forest fans is always a laugh and never more than friendly banter. Got free wi-fi, sky sports, BT sports so all sports shown. My favourite ever "local"

Nice pub. Child friendly. Good for parties and venues. Has its regulars as do most small pubs. Friendly staff.
