The only reason I did not give this nice mostly level walk a 5 is the fact that the restrooms at the splash pad were closed, and the large group of teenagers that were there were hanging around that spot. Smoking/vaping and cussing/ yelling at each other. We were there late in the afternoon. We had parked near the old courthouse and walked the square first, then got on the trail at the tunnel and walked to city park. Walking by the group the first time. On our way back I really needed a restroom break but when we got back to the splash pad, to use the facilities we were told by the teens that they MFers had just locked the doors. There were electrical outlets between the two restrooms door and phones plugged into every one of them. Backpacks covered most of the concrete so that even if the restrooms were not locked you would have to crawl over them to get to the door. Not sure where the parents of these kids are/were but it was kind of an uncomfortable situation.

A railroad bed has been converted to a very pleasant walking trail. It is paved with asphalt and has benches placed along its 1.5 mile length. Walking it’s length and back to your car yields a nice 3.1 miles, about an hour’s walk for the average adult. It goes through the center of small town Lincolnton, NC, offering a various tableaux of residential, business, and undeveloped areas. (In some ways this makes it more interesting for frequent walking than even the nearby (<4 miles away) rural, riverside rail trail at Laboratory, NC.) It is lighted and well-maintained by the town.

Good paved route. Almost a 5k. Nice hill to begin, otherwise flat. Good parking. Three restrooms available. Scenery was okay. Junkyards aren’t as pretty as the views offered by other greenways in surrounding cities. I’d drive to Gastonia’s Avon Creek instead. Hickory may have something nicer to offer as well.

This area is a great place for a good, brisk walk. The trail is paved and well maintained. My wife and I love to go there where we need to get I a quick cardio workout. I don’t recommend it for biking because too many walkers wear earbuds and can’t hear you approaching. If you want to mountain bike, check out the south fork trail.

A nice easy walk on a paved repurposed railroad bed which was once Lincolntons factory area. Bathrooms and plenty of parking. Quiet and green. In the center of town for a quick after walk meal.

This trail has been in our town for years, they've added more walking miles to it over the years, great lil trail, never feel unsafe or etc during our walks, lit up in the evening time, perfect stops along the trail by the splash pad or even check out downtown

This is an old railroad line converted to a nicely paved walking, running, biking trail through downtown lincolnton. Great to get the locals moving. There is a new fun splash park along the way for the overheated big or little joggers.

This trail is a great asset in Lincoln county! The trail is a nice paved and mostly shaded. The trail is 1.5 miles long one way. There are 2sets of bathrooms for the public and a small splash pad opened during warmer seasons

This is a nice walk but to be honest I felt like I was walking through a neighbors backyard in parts of it and the rest is through town, it is a good walk if you want to see downtown Lincolnton or if you live near the path bit to drive there it's not for me, I would rather go to the thread trail near the medical center in Go get city near Lincolnton it has fountains and small hills so peaceful
