A gentle little stroll down a river with a couple of spots to dip your dog . Combined this with a longer walk from Siblyback lake . Cafe was good , got there too late for the food but the coffee was good

Beautiful, peaceful walks.
But the food….WOW!!!
Great value for money and all freshly cooked and delicious.
Big portion sizes, but we were able to grab a takeaway box, so no waste!!

Haven't been here for about 8 years . Car Park much improved .Toilets were just portaloos that were disgusting.
For some reason you can no longer walk along the full length edge of the river because there has been a roll up fence put up about 3 metres from the rivers edge . This spoils the look of the river and detracts from the natural look of the place . Further along the fence dissappears and you can get to the edge of the river in all its glory and it is beautiful. Worth the trip .

Had a lovely walk at Golitha falls, it was a great place to take the dogs for a really good off lead run. It was very busy but it’s August and I think all of Cornwall is busy this time of year. We rambled up the hill which can be quite steep and a bit of a challenge and then came back along the river. The dogs loved it and were super tired when we got them back to where we’re staying.

Parking was free and easy - but we got there early! It was jam-packed later in the day. The walk along to the Falls is glorious. Lovely places along the stream for paddling - humans and dogs! There were portaloos next to the car park, and Inkies Smokehouse for food and drinks. Lovely people - very friendly!

Beautiful falls a bit of a walk but Ideal with the dog when we were there the cafe was closed so we couldn't experience that. The car park is free.

Lovely atmosphere and fairly gentle gradients. Interesting information boards. Did not eat there but rather disgusting toilets.

Lovely pla e to visit for a couple of hours. Free parking and free toilets. We would recommend getting there early to get a parking space. A restaurant serving drinks and meals. We had two cups of teas and two Red neck ( three thick slices of bacon in a big seeded bun. Very filling and nice, the downside was We had to wait 25 minutes for it but it was lovely, Summertime they would be busier!
We walked to the falls and was worth the 30minutes slow walk exploring. Breathtaking. Go right to the bottom where the rocks are. Loads of variety of wildlife to be seen too.
It can be precarious if taking a pushchair but see how you go, rocks and tree roots as you .
We would recommend this place

Great easy family walk. Well mapped at the start with a choice of options to walk along. It’s signposted to have dogs on leads but every other group we came across with dogs had theirs off the lead this is frustrating as our lab is much better behaved off lead but due to signage felt we had to keep her on. The water is very fast flowing (at this time of year!) so it was helpful to not have her trying to jump in. It is such a pretty area. A great car park. Great view points. Topped off with having Inkies Smokehouse in the vicinity for some food at the end of the walk.

Hi. I have read the 'accessiblity' answers as I have a daughter who cannot manage uneven ground and sometimes uses a wheelchair. Could any of you please confirm that we'd get a good view of a 'rushing' river from the section of path which you say is fairly good? If she can see that and get to a good/pretty cafe onsite or nearby she'll be happy!

There is a small brook to the left just before the entrance to the car park for Golithia Falls, I wouldn't say it's a rushing river. Also the main part of the falls was sectioned off in June, as they are trying to restrict the damage made by human footfall. You would have no problem with access to Inkies which is the eating place situated in the car park where seating is on the car park level. Hope this helps.

Would I be able to get a buggy through? It's a 3 wheeler all terrain one but need to know how tricky it is. Thanks

Certainly not in the current climate!! It’s very muddy. You would get to some of the falls but not all around it. Best place nearby for a walk with a buggy is Siblyback Lake. Beautiful walk round the lake with footpaths all around and a lovely cafe. Great play area as well but you have to pay for parking.

Hi what footwear can you get away with in summer. Don’t really want to pack walking boots, would converse trainers/ daps be fine? Is there a path etc thank you
Escrita el 2 de agosto de 2020
We’ve been a couple of times and always end off the path (I say path but it’s a natural one through the woods) but I was wearing walking sandals and they did fine. If it’s been raining, you would probably want walking boots but trainers are fine. If you’ve got kids and dogs that like to climb rocks like ours, you might get a bit muddy so don’t wear your best!

How far are the falls from the car park please?
Escrita el 6 de agosto de 2019
About 10 minutes of leisurely strolling alongside the river.
Escrita el 6 de agosto de 2019
Yes it is as long as you stick to gravel path. Like any woodland path, it has its more "difficult" areas but on the whole it is a flat, super easy, short stroll.

Probably not really no. There is a place to eat, like a lodge selling food and drink and they’ve tables outside but not really suitable for a picnic.
