We went in our SUV but since the driver chickened out we couldn't finish the full forest. But its worth a visit if you start early

Located around 30 minutes from Coffs Harbour, this state forest offers many opportunities for walking. Being a state forest, dogs are permitted.

Lovely quiet rainforest walk with several shallow creek crossings after a lot of rain.
There was plenty of water at the falls and lots of leeches, easy track. Wear appropriate shoes that u don’t mind getting wet . Dirt track in with a water crossing ,no problem to cross in a small 2wheel drive.

Great place for a walk! It’s about 4.5km return from the gate, and about 18 water crossings return, but we had so much fun. The water crossings are fine for our kids (4,6) not a lot of water in them. The waterfalls are amazing. Just watch for leeches at the end. A highlight of our trip for sure

Just turn west at the Woolies roundabout. Nice picnic area and a good 25 min walk to the water fall (if there is water!) Even better at night with glowing fungi. Expect wet feet after rain as there are a few creek crossings. Don't bother after weeks of heavy rain. A bit of bush when your on the coast!

Take the drive to the Wedding Bells State Forest picnic area and enjoy the tranquility! Chill & enjoy your picnic lunch!

If you have the time, take the walk to the waterfall on Woolgoolga Creek. If the area is closed to vehicle access due to rain, you will not be able to walk to the waterfall as the creek crossings will be too dangerous.

A very under advertised waterfall walk that is easy for children, small creek crossings that are good for a paddle, waterholes for swimming and abundance of native flora, bird life and transition from ghostly flooded gum forest to rainforest, stag and elk horns bird nest ferns plus palm groves. It is a very pleasant walk. If walking after rain event make sure you spray your shoes with pest repellent as there can be a few leeches and this seems to deter them. We are locals and we do the walk often with the grandchildren they love the adventure. It is only 4km off the main road in Woolgoolga to the picnic area from which the walk commences.

This was the third time we had taken visitors to this beautiful, unadvertised spot. The first two times the paths were muddy with flowing water at the creek crossings and storm damaged stairways/walkways. The waterfall itself was lovely as was the rainforest walk.
This time the paths were dry and had been covered with largish gravel/stones which made walking a little difficult. All the stairs and raised pathways had also been repaired. The rainforest was just as beautiful and peaceful. However as others had said the waterfall was just a trickle. Despite this we loved our 1.3klm??????? stroll!

A nice walk but it has lots of creek crossing so after heavy rain may be impassable.
It is longer than 1.3km each way, brochure from visitors center has it as 3.5km return.

You need to watch out for leeches, we met some locals who do the walk regularly and their first question to us was what was our leech count, we only had 1 (which was removed before it attached) so it sounds like you need to be aware.

Took some time to read and relax at the picnic area. Nice tables and grassed area. Unfortunately, not a rubbish bin in sight and the BBQ were out of order. Lovely area, just 5 min west of Woolgoolga.
