This place no longer in operation it's a shame where there is no sign to say it's closed so we all had a good look round thats 4 of us and a dog there was signs for caves and waterfull all dryed up and run down but the website said it was free so we were not complaining the nursery we new was closed as the website said but everything else was open so we got back to car and with that a lady came up in a very horrible way telling us we were tresspassing.
There was no sign of anything to say the caves and waterfull was closed .
They need to take the website down.

Not much to see. Very amateur. Frankly dangerous in some places, amazed at the steep uneven steps and no handrails. Tea was poor.

Been before knew what to expect and wanted my mum of 72 to experience the amazing food in the great little cafe.
The lovely lady was there again, wish I asked her name, next time ;-)
We arrived 20 minutes before she was due to open, she instantly settled us in with a cuppa (in China cups etc. which was enough for 5 cups of tea each) then she continued to open up properly. Had a breakfast, again, spot on!!
Walked around gardens to work the breakfast off :-)
The gardens are rustic, don't expect national trust standards.
If you have it in you to appreciate nature's natural maturity then you'll be fine :-D
Some areas are a no go and perhaps a suitable bench here and there to sit and enjoy the surroundings wouldn't go a miss but hey, I'll be back and with other people to introduce to this little delight :-D
Thanks again to the lovely lady in the cafe, you're a gem :-)

I can only comment on the cafe as we didn't have time to visit the gardens and caves. First impressions are that the site is run down, as the nursery is now shut, but the cafe is clean and cosy inside and there is also some outside seating. The lady running the cafe was very pleasant and it was such a pleasure to have a cream tea which had homemade scones, homemade jam and tea in proper china cups. The lemon drizzle cake was also really good and there was a selection of other home made cakes, whilst comments in the visitors book suggested the bread pudding was excellent. We will definitely be back.

We called withour grandchidren and it is a magical place with the limestone rocks and the caves. It has so much potential just needs someone attention and money spending on it to improve paths and the gardens. The children thought it was great to explore but you need to be careful if you go to the top of the quarry as there are some big drops. The lady in the cafe is lovely and serves nice teas and cakes.

We enjoy gojng to caves and being outside as a family, so this place ticked all the boxes. I can kind of see why some people may mark the place down on first impressions, but once inside it's a pretty Fantastic place. It was cheap to get in and we were there a couple of hours, lots of caves to see and tracks to follow. Some paths were a little difficult to navigate, so probably advised for those that are fitter rather than not. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area
