Very basic, but clean and nice. Only complaint is that the rooms have no A/C, and the info says just open a window at night because it cools off. That's great advice if your room has a window, but ours did not and it was July. The room was very warm and stuffy - too hot for sleeping.

A more accurate rating might be something like 3.5. First, the good: what you see is what you get, price is very reasonable for the area, rooms are clean and modern, and the property is super quiet and has a good team managing it. What you should be aware of: what you see is EXACTLY what you get, no more. Our room didn't have any additional storage space or surfaces on which to place a large suitcase for a week long trip. The bathroom and sink also lacked much in the way of places to put anything you might be using (shaving equipment, lotions, makeup, and so on). The bed was also on the small side for a queen (I suspect it may have been a full) and bedding on the very basic side. Also, and this is not at all the property owners' responsibility, but something you should consider: Silverton is a very small town and relatively isolated. Most businesses close at 7 and a few may remain open until 9. If you need something for the night, make sure you get it before then. The nearest overnight convenience stores are over 30 miles away and over a mountain pass that would be better driven during the day. If you're likely to have late night needs, keep this in mind. In reality, this is more like a hostel experience than a hotel, and I think it should be promoted just that way (I notice a communal kitchen is mentioned, but didn't inquire because we didn't need one on this trip). For a hostel, this is quite good. But I don't recommend staying here if you're a couple planning a stay for more than a night. If you're traveling alone and on a budget, definitely consider it. …

It was my third time staying here. Rooms are not the biggest rooms but bery clean, newly remodeled, everything is new inside. Very quiet, considering that it is an old building. Pet friendly. There is no permanent staff on site but there's a 24 hours phone number you can call and they are very prompt at answering. Some rooms have to TV so ask the desk which one are those. Also, some rooms have bathrom/shower on the hallway (not shared, just not in the room). Very pleased with their customer service! Last year I got to meet one of the owners, he was very friendly and helpful. No A/C but you don't need it either, rooms stay pretty cool during the day and you definitely don't need A/C during the night. Will be back in August! 😉

Me and my wife stayed at the Kendall mountain lodge over the 4th of July weekend and enjoyed every bit of it. The whole place was clean, has great modern touches, and the beds are very comfortable! We loved how it was centrally located in the small town of silverton and we were able to walk all around with ease. Getting into the town of silverton itself is one to remember on the million dollar highway - one of the prettiest drives we have ever seen! We went on a hike to the nearby lost lake and it was worth every step (highly recommend). Overall the next time I visit silverton I will be booking at the Kendal mountain lodge. Excited to come back in the winter and experience silverton mountain.
