This is the second time we have booked with JP Cottages. They are wonderful people and offer beautiful and affordable places to stay for smaller families. This one is right on the beach and it did not disappoint. Views from the house are gorgeous! The property was clean and spacious. We will definitely be booking again in the future.

Amazing
We had an amazing stay! The house was very cute and very spacious. The views are amazing and it's just a couple steps away from the beach. We are already talking about how we cant wait to stay again next year!

Great place to stay!
Cottage was SUPER cute. Was also very clean. Really enjoyed this place for a long weekend getaway. Will definitely book again when we go to OBX!!

Incredible location!
The location of this 4 bedroom 2 bath condo is awesome! Great location ON the beach. The fishing pier is an easy 15 minute casual walk down the beach. Jeanette's Pier is another 15 minute walk from the fishing pier. Lots of people walking and dogs playing and running. It is a cozy cabin-like condo and reminds me of my childhood with the oak paneled walls and barn door kitchen cabinets. It is has the rustic charm of a mature unit that has seen many seasons on the beach. The staff is incredibly pleasant and extremely helpful and accommodating. The unit was neat and clean and had everything you need to be at "home". This is not a posh place, but is great for a family with kids that are in and out of the sand and water all day. We went to the Outer Banks to enjoy the area and sometimes the weather made it difficult to be playing in the sand and water, so we had a quick and easy drives to Manteo and Roanoke. Lots of inside fun for the kids too. The Aquarium was the highlight of our coldest day.

Great place to stay at S Nags Head
Great family and friends spot near Jeannette's Pier, very spacious, clean, and comfortable - even cozy! Loved all the counter space and great views!

Location is great, accommodations need to be updated.
The location is great, right on beach. When we walked in you could smell mold and mildew on stairs and porch area. The carpet needs to be removed since the only ventilation is the window. You could smell stale smoke in porch area (No smoking) allowed? Inside was open area, sofa needed to be replaced (torn) open kitchen, refrigerator needed to be replaced. No linens provided, although there were pillows and bedspreads. I would return for a visit if the unit is updated and did no smell so bad. One of our guests got sick from the mildew.

I am so sorry to hear that your stay with us was not up to your expectations. Our location right on the beach is generally what our guest here at JP Cottages find to be the greatest amenity we have to offer. We are approaching the end of our rental season and wear and tear on furniture and appliances may happen throughout the summer season. These issues are addressed each year in our off season when we repair and replace worn furnishings. We are proud of the old nags head style cottages that we offer and can promise a very laid back and simple stay here. The photos offered on Flipkey are a true and real reflection of what you can expect. I personally clean and maintain the units myself, although the glassed in porch may have had a damp feel due to the storm and excessive rain we had at the time of your stay, I can assure there was no mold. I am available daily on site and would have welcomed and addressed any issues you may have had. We hope that any future stays you may have in Nags Head will be more positive for you. Pat

Wonderful and a great value.
I'm always hesitant to book a place with no reviews, but we decided to take a chance on this property and we were very happy with our stay. Pat was very accommodating and super friendly. She made us feel right at home and made check in/check out as easy as they could have possibly been!
The location of this cottage is amazing. You can't be any closer to the beach and it's literally just steps to the ocean. Two of the bedrooms and one bathroom have windows directly facing the ocean and it was fantastic to pull up the blinds, open the windows and just enjoy the sights and sounds.
This unit is upstairs and there are two smaller units downstairs. The walls are very thin and you may hear your neighbors, but we had no issues with either unit and we made sure to be respectful and kept our three girls down to a dull roar of noise! The screened porch was great in the mornings. We had some chilly days on our stay and it was nice to still be inside but be able to open the windows and still enjoy the ocean. The clothes line was a nice touch to be able to hang up our beach towels and bathing suits after a day of playing in the ocean.
The unit is obviously older, and it's not exactly a five star hotel. Some things are dated and you may feel like you're in a flash back to an earlier decade. With that being said, everything was in working order and there were obviously some newer additions. We had EVERYTHING we could ask for to prepare meals- appliances, pots, pans, place setting, glasses, utensils, etc. There was a microwave, toaster, coffee maker and toaster oven. We had a nice mix of cooking in and eating out and we didn't lack for anything in the unit.
We were super happy to see that there was a roll of toilet paper left in each bathroom for our arrival. We knew to bring our own, but not having to unpack it right away when we arrived to get the kids to the bathroom was fantastic- Thanks, Pat!
The beds were comfy and we were more than happy with the furniture in the unit. Our party of 8 fit comfortably and we were able to enjoy each other's company but still feel like we had our space. There were two TVs in the unit- one in the living room and one in the bedroom with two single beds that faced the ocean. While it would have been nice to have additional TVs in the other bedrooms, we were there to enjoy the ocean and beach and this in no way took away from our vacation. The only thing we really lamented was the lack of laundry facilities. I left a bag at home that contained some of my daughter's clothes so we were hurting by the third day and had to run to the store to purchase some basics rather than trying to find a Laundromat.
Bottom line, the unit is old but is in very good condition and clean. I don't need to stay at the Rtiz, I just want a clean, comfortable place to lay my head in between the beach and activities and this was perfect for the price. The owners were accommodating and we were incredibly happy with our stay. If the unit was pet friendly, we would be back a few times a year, but I won't hesitate to book this the next time we're in town for a weekend and the dog is kenneled.

The perfect place to relax and enjoy
Truth in advertising is an understatement. What you see in the pictures cannot express how wonderful our experience was. Everything was setup perfectly for our arrival and the owners were wonderful folks to deal with. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone interested in living the beach experience and chilling with a cold drink, while watching the waves roll in.
